Accessport
Considering getting one of these as a buddy of mine just got one for his WRX and absolutely loves it. Question I have is, has anyone used this on their G and were the gains noticeable? My friend has said his gas mileage has actually gotten better while the bottom end has definitely increased. Appealing!
Also, can I plug it in and load the map and keep it at home or does it have to be kept in the glovebox the whole time?

No Osiris in western Canada yet as far as I know, a few guys have COBB but you better get one quick if you want one they discontinued it for G35/350Z. You upload the tune then you can leave the access port at home. You can also get a custom tune from Lightspeed (it has better gains than the COBB tune) with a COBB a few guys on here have also done that as well, I am not sure what the gains are maybe 20whp at peak? I think the gains under the curve were quite impressive if I remember looking at Enos before and after graph I think under the curve he was gaining between 20-30ft/lbs of torque in some spots which is huge for an NA car basically there is no huge power adder for these cars unless you want to go forced induction. If you want to do all of the NA bolts cat back exhaust, test pipes, headers, intake spacer and cold air intake I would go with a COBB an aftermarket tune to maximize your performance, but it will not be as good as your buddies gains with his Suby.

Thanks for you opinions. I was able to track one down and I think that it is actually Keith on here that is selling it. Sounds like he has been having fun with custom mapping.
That said, I'm not sure what is going to be more beneficial as I have no bolt on pieces yet. Either start getting NA mods and then tune it or just tune it for now and then get pieces. I know I want to get sway bars before anything else, that's about it. I wouldn't mind getting an OC test done as well...no point in buying mods if they are going to try to snake out of the warranty.
On a side note, what kind of management are you running Sylvan? Numbers are quite impressive. Stock pistons in their still?

Well that sucks
Op, since Osiris isn't availabe then I guess you don't have a choice. Not sure what my power curve was like but my peak gains with the accessport were 15HP / 20TQ, but that was only a generic map since there weren't any tuners around here. If you have a place that can custom tune it for you nearby, then it should be worth it. Your better off getting the supporting mods before getting a custom tune.

This had just dawned on me but I'm not sure if it is possible to do.
I was thinking that a few members could all pitch in and we buy a Cobb's we can share amongst us. I'm not sure how easy it is to transfer vehicle to vehicle, but it seems like you just plug it in, load the maps and you're done. One person wants to make custom maps, take it to the dyno, the track etc...seems win-win I suppose. Maybe it's not that easy though.

I think they've got that covered -- one tuner, one car. Usually with these types of unit, you return to your stock map, then you can move it to another car. At least that's the way it works with the SuperChips tuner I have to install tow maps on my Expedition.

It will only work on one car at a time. Once installed on your vehicle, it would need to be up-paired from your ECU before it can work on another car.

Damn, they think of everything hey
Might end of getting this first. I really would like to get the A/F ratio figured out and keep it that while I gradually add mods instead of relying on the ECU to figure what it thinks is best. Or am I just convincing myself out loud
Are there major differences between V1 and V2? I can't seem to find any specs on V1 other than the screens are different...

Like Gord was saying I got mine and really felt a difference once I got that custom tune from LSI. Made a huge difference and, as Cam from LSI said "brought the car to life."
I have most of the mentioned add ons except headers- I haven't got the ability to do my own custom mapping yet but I will soon. NO idea how to do anything- but I figure that's the fun of learning from these fine folks in here.
I saw a few of the COBBs for 400 on the site- which sounds about right... but factor in the cost of a custom tune as well otherwise you might be disappointed.

I tuned once just about everything was installed. In fact, they installed a good portion of it and then tuned at the same time. Gord would be the better one to ask about the cost for the tune. There was a bit of a deal there where I let him use and tune the car so he could test out his new software. I'm not sure of the cost- unfortunately.
So lightspeed does ecu reflashes? Im having problems figuring out what to use for engine management. Or figuring out what would be the best affordable way of preventing the inevitable grenading of my stupid VQ.
I am not really sure what a custom tune on an access port costs for sure but roughly I think the dyno is $180/hr plus $120 set up fee???? Don't quote me on that but I would guess 1-2hrs or so for a custom tune maybe closer to 1hr
. It is fairly costly so I would run the COBB tune for now and wait until you have all of your bolt on power mods you plan to do done and use the tune to optimize everything at that point.I have not talked to Cam about it how awhile but he was planning to get Up rev/Osiris after COBB pulled the plug on the access port. As far as I know he dose not have it yet...maybe not enough interest? Call him or even better email him and find out his email is the one on LS web site. I run 21psi on my stock engine and your worried about blowing yours up?!?!
