On Fri I met with my Boss and a Return to work specialist from WSIB, the WSIB Agent first asked my Boss what kind of work I was doing and then asked my boss to describe all of the available jobs that consisted in the company. He asked my Boss if there was any job that I could do or that could be modified to suit my injury now this is where I thought my Boss would have said "oh there's lots of work we can find Roy to do" but with him being completely clueless to what the consequences are for not being able to provide light duties are he kept saying "there is nothing we have available for Roy to do". At the end of the meeting the WSIB Agent told my Boss that they will have to cover my wages plus benefits for up to 2 years and there was a possible fine to the company for laying me off while on light duties. The look on my bosses face was PRICELESS if I had a camera I would have taken a picture and posted it up on the internet.

I guess that company learned a valuable lesson know what your rights and your employee's rights are before deciding to lay someone off.

Glad to hear things went well. Just be careful not to do anything physical in plain sight as your employer may be pissed off enough to send sent some PI firm out to spy on you and take misleading photos or video. It's a possibility anyhow.

great stuff Roy.

....IDK why, but I keep wanting to change the title on this thread and delete 'off'
I think it would get a lot more hits.
