So I got laid off today......

2 years ago I left a good well paying job to avoid the long commute to Toronto and avoid the steady afternoon and weekend shifts to spend more time with my family. I decided to go back to school to learn a trade and be able to work close to home.......

Fast forward to now, I just got laid off from a job that hardly pertained to Gas fitting and paid me $hit in the first place.

WOW HOW'S THAT FOR TRYING TO BETTER YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing I'll let you all know is I'm not going out without a fight.
A month ago I filed a WSIB claim because I developed tendonitis in my rotator cuff in my shoulder, I had to go on light duties but all of the jobs there involve heavy lifting which I couldn't realy do but I did as much as I could. Today he tells me that their slow but yet another guy who got hired after me is still working..........I smell something fishy wouldn't you agree??

Wow Roy, sorry to hear this.

It does sound somewhat fishy, very poor choice for the company.

Hope everything gets worked out!

That's a shame Roy, all of it except for the extra time you got to spend with your family and do the basement. I hope your shoulder rights soon.
Best of Luck goin after that SOB of a boss and finding gainful employment quickly.

thanks for the positive remarks guys, I'll be hard at it today I'm sure something wll come up I'm just glad WSIB is covering for my physio its a big help.
I'm kind of torn between going hard applying for jobs or waiting a bit to let my shoulder get better, if I get a job now and tell them I can't do half the work because of my shoulder it won't look good on my part on the other hand now it peak season for heatng, this time of year most people are turning their furnaces on and finding out they need servicing and/or replacing its a tough decision. The Ideal job would be one in which I don't do allot of heavy lifting or have a partner to work with.

apply as much as possible and see what comes back, you never know, possibly what you're looking for will come back..... if not at least you'll have that option to say yes/no....
