Those were the Days

Those were the Days
I ran across something today.
It was a G35Driver Business Card.
It got me to thinking back. When I first joined g35driver back in November 2004 one of the first people I met was my good friend Colin, now known as Msedanman, then known as Gsedanman. He was one of the g35driver original anchormen. He told me many interesting stories about the start of g35driver and many of it's pioneers. I think he knew everyone on the site (at least it seemed like it). The membership at that time was not much over 10,000 people. That first year we had a few meets and I made many other friends such as Whatacar, InTgr8r, 35Bills, SammyJL, heck in the next year InTgr8r and Msedanman and myself went out to meet up with some East Coast members and that was Garnet Canuck and RBull. That was the start of a great friendship with all of these people. Since then we have done a few car cruises out to the East Coast, Quebec City, Gaspe etc.
Since that time Karen and I have met many more people and developed good friendships during our meets and cruises through g35driver.
The site has definitely grown, sometimes I think it has gotten too big, but I know I have really enjoyed this site over the years.
Thanks to all for everything.
Heck I got carried away, back to these business cards. When I met Colin back in 2004 he gave me a few of these business cards promoting g35driver.com.
I found it very interesting to read the card and think about when the site was just over 10,000 members and how it has grown to almost 100,000 members.

Thread gets my approval! glad you everyone still hangs around whether or not they still drive a Nissan/Infiniti. Just goes to show how solid of a community we have here on driver.
I'm also glad to have met a lot of the great people on this forum. I wouldn't know half of what I know now if it hadn't been for this forum!

I have been here for about a year and a bit and unfortunately I haven't been too impressed. Nobody has ever helped me out with anything, my car still looks and performs exactly the same way it did when I got it and I haven't met anyone that knew anything about the platform at all.
But for some mysterious reasons now I throw down acronyms like "HFC" and "JWT" and "FMU"... and plenum spacers and EMS- Catback, headers- rods, clutchpacks... Wideband sensors... And it's like my car is on speed pills.
Okay, okay... maybe the site and the people in it are alright.
Actually- you're all pretty fricken awesome. Thanks for everything guys!

GREAT post Wayne!! I remember those cards as well. I used to have a ton of them but ended up putting them under the wiper blades of all the G35s that I came across here locally. There weren't many G35s around back then (and still aren't) so it I remember it taking awhile to get rid of them.
You're absolutely right though, the people on this forum are fantastic and I have met so many great people here over the years because of it. Friends for life, no question about it.
The site certainly isn't what it used to be years ago, but I'm sure glad a lot of long time members are still here.

Truer words were never written. I came across one of those cards when I cleaned out my donut hole. Brought back loads of memories ........... the first meet I attended. Wind, rain, snow, sleet and sunshine all within two hours at Sq. 1 in Miss. Mods I didn't know I wanted or needed but got because ..... who knows. This site has been amazing, almost as impressive as those on it.
First bit of information from the forum I used saved me from prying open my fuel door and living with the damage. Became a Prem. mem. the next day.
Knew how to get at the pin thingy to open the door from the inside because I read a random thread that had this info in it.
Thanks for the memories.

IIRC that was the same day that we found Colin's detailing kit.
