Freebees with Rogers Cable are up, suggestions?
Good stuff Sam.

Not sure what you mean because most home internet service packages have a download-per-month cap. If you go over this cap is gets expensive (like $1 per GB). Since Netflix is IP it goes against your internet cap.

Right you are. That's why I'm happy I got Roger's Movie Channel option. It doesn't count against anything and up here Roger's lineup of movies is more current (so I'm told).

Eastlink and Bell Aliant here in the Maritimes do not have download caps. Aliant's high speed internet has never had download caps. There is talk about implementing a cap but I am not sure when that will happen.
I immediately called Rogers retention and got a better deal. They knocked 30% off everything across the board and I got the HDPVR and HD STB for another year at no charge. This translates to $97/month savings.
I have Digital VIP (with the HD & Sports pkg), Express Internet and Home Phone Classic with call display and voice mail. Total Cost $116.41+tax per month.
For me, cable is the way to go. I had Sat TV for a few years and it's very good however, I really like having local news and I watch the Rangers play on channel 20 all the time.
It's too bad we have to call to keep them competitive but for a $1000 a year I'll spend 30 minutes on the phone.

Happy New Year!

My original cost was $58. New package is $65.79 for cable and TMN, keeping HDPVR and DVT free for another year. A little off from the two previous quotes from CR reps., which was $78 for same deal without TMN. I'm happy.
Correct. Eastlink has announced publicly they are going to implement one but I haven't heard limits/costs.
Key word you've used below is MOST.
