Has anyone been able to convince Infiniti to replace these door handles and steering wheels under warranty for the scratched finishes? My driver side door and steering wheel are starting to get really ugly and bad. It's because the 2007 model uses that soft silicone material and the black finish is scratching/chipping right off.

Assuming there's no way to get this covered, is there a cost effective way to have these replaced? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have any pictures of the door handles or steering wheel?

 

Pretty sure the steering wheel one is a warranty one as well as the front grill. Not sure on door handle.

 

Steering wheels and door trim are covered under warranty but it depends on the dealer cause as we all no they are real aholes! They will use the excuses that's it wear and tear BS! I know to change the door trims they want $160 each door !

 

It should be warranty for both as Infiniti changed the finish after the '07 MY.
As mentioned, it will depend on the dealership on how much grief they give you.

 

The steering wheel on my '08 coupe is pretty chewed up in the area just under the radio controls. I'll be asking Hyatt about a replacement next time.

Question though - did Infiniti change the trim on the wheel? That finish should never have passed wear testing, so fragile it is.

 

I've attached some pics of the flaking/peeling of the finish. I can hardly believe this is not covered under warranty. I'm waiting to hear back from Buffalo dealership to see if they'll cover it since the dealerships up here in the GTA area are a bunch of crooks.
