micheline x-ice2 snow update
i just drove from Aurora to downtown toronto, first of all screw you environment canada, how the hell light rain ends up being 10cm snow.
long story short, i went to visit my friend in Aurora, i thought weather network was accurate i stayed till 10:30, then i saw 10cm snow on my car, well i am a gta person so its too much for my 2003 g35 coupe
anyways, well the roads were really slushy, a lot of black ice here and there. it took 1hr 15min to take 40kms, well the micheline was really good considering i saw so many SUVs ended up going into ditches. i am surprised a lot of places i thought i was gonna lose it. still im sure anything over this much snow the car cant make it. overall i am happy with going with these tires, especially on slushy and icy roads, they are damn good.

Glad to hear they worked out good for you.
In snow tire discussions threads, it's really hard to tell someone what a difference they can make.
You have to experience it to really understand.
& +1 with the snow. WTF?

Good to hear about the snows musti. Black ice is pretty common here with a lot of our temps hovering around freezing and some precip.
Yeah we had a forecast like that a couple of weeks ago.

I was going across the 401 E last night from Mississauga to Scarborough and it was horrible. The slush/snow/rain was packed down and it was like a sheet of ice in some spots on the highway.
I think I may get a set next year depending on what mods I do before then. I'm sick of driving an embarrassing beater lol. Need limo tint.

couple of friends have 4 wheel drive SUVs and they have beaten up all season tires, it wasnt pleasant.
definitely the brand, the model makes huge difference. these tires are especially good for icy roads, (which GTA people usually get anyways)I did drive on 10-15cms of snow, the car was manageable but not like a 4 wheel drive. I think you get the picture.
overalla Blizzaks are proven good, but these X-ice series were having good reviews, they are not that bad on price too(850 for the whole set) im glad i end up with them.

Mustafa, I think nailed it, living in your area where you are likely to be on black ice and icy conditions more frequently than real deep snow. Sounds like you made the perfect choice.
