Exclamation Spark... Plugged?

Eh guys. Not sure how many of you drift over to the Northwest section in the US but I thought I would pass on this word of caution.

Many of you know I bought my car almost a year and a half ago and had the wrong plugs with the wrong gap and signs of detonation on one of them.

I've put 20000 kms on the car since I got it... Any time I'd thought about doing the plugs or having them looked at I noticed in my research that they should be good for 80000 kms or more (100k)

Anyway- see the post:

Pulled the plugs from a 2006 350z today, BONE STOCK with 44K miles on it before getting an Osiris tune, had a big shock when we looked at the plugs! He ended up putting down 258whp with only a K&N filter, said it felt like he was in a whole new car!

Nissan says 100K miles between spark plugs but I've never seen one last that long... Rich at Uprev said he "always quotes customers 15-25k miles between plug changes depending on how they drive and if they are FI. A simple change of the spark plugs to factory fresh NGK plugs is good for 3whp on an NA car."

WOW. All I can say is if you haven't gotten tuned you should :icon9:

I know the guys at Intec like the greddy 7 for NA applications, but I don't think they are the cheapest option. they put greddy 9 plugs in for me with FI setup.

They ain't cheap but that's because they are good, The OEMs plugs (NGK laser platinum) got replaced at 140000k not because of any issues, got replaced because it was over due.

cold step is for FI

most people get platinum. Iridium will last longer but platinum is more consistent

OEM Lazer Platinum is part # PLFR5A-11

either order them online or buy a set from the states. Plugs are way to expensive in Canada ($180 compared to $60)

That plug looks worn and has ash deposits. Doesn't look like detonation to me.
