Fuel Consumption
So I did some searches but the most recent discussion in the CAD forums was almost a year ago. With gas prices sky rocketing and being a proud new owner of an 07 coupe I just wanted some thoughts/feedback on others fuel consumption as mine seems pretty ridiculous.
I've had it only about a month but filled up several times already. I'm noticing about 400km/tank doing city driving. This seems low considering our tanks are 70+ liters.
What are others getting? Is this normal? Gas is literally raping me right now :S

Yeah, I think you're going to find a lot of guys agreeing with you on this... The car is a bit of a pig that way. But then again, be honest now... how much of that inner city driving is planting your foot on the gas to enjoy that deep stock exhaust sound?
Once that becomes less of a novelty you'll probably get some more kms.

It is well documented on Driver that the G has a large variance in fuel economy dependant on how we drive.
City driving will range from 400 to 500km/tank and hwy from 550 to 750km/tank. Keep in mind that there could be somewhere between 7-10L remaining in the tank when the fuel light comes on. That could be another 100km of driving to run dry.
I always get ~450 per tank, 90% City driving at avg 50kph, and have 7 litres left in the tank when I refill it. When I highway drive at a steady ~115kph I usually get 9.5L/100km.
I also suspect that you are still in the 'fun new car' stage of ownership and are pressing the pedal to the metal a little more than you might later on down the road.
There are so many factors contributing to fuel economy. Acceleration, tires, tire pressure, vehicle maintenance, road grades, fuel blends, outdoor temp, wind, trip length, avg speed etc., etc..
We all drive different so we all get different numbers.
Here is a website where people log their fuel economy.

Well hopefully that's just to prove that there's nothing mechanical wrong with your vehicle. Half the fun is in the >3000RPM range.
I agree to a point about not being able to afford it if you have to ask- but at the same time if there's something wrong with your car, heavy fuel consumption might be an indicator. I guess if you don't know what it is, well... you get the picture.
Anyway- welcome to the community. Not everyone in here is a snooty albertan
