2 Part Question

1) If your car is an '04, is it assumed that it was purchased in '03 and has been used for 8 years? I ask this for km purposes, meaning, it should have (using 20k/year as an avg.) an estimated 160k on it.

2) What do tires usually run for first gen g35 coupes?

Depends what you want $55-$1500 for your "average" tires.

If you're buying a car out of Whitby, then assume it was a commuter car. So it could have WAAAAy higher kms and only have been driven in the summers.

Average kms for an 03/04 is about 150-200 though.

well i have 100k on my 2003 but i was lucky the previous owner never used it in winter, and last winter my first ever winter for the G.besides for 3 years i didnt even drive it to work(cause i was walking to work)

i think if you see like 50,000-60,000 km on a 2003 nowadays , it is probably too good to be true, i got mine in 2008 and the km was 65k. as i said 8 year old cars rarely does less than 100k now. unless u use it as a shopping cart during the weekdays and weekend u took it around the city.

well average set cost 850-1300 depending on the tire brand. my advice is dont go cheap, most of the good tires last longer. micheline pilot sport is the best but i know that is the most expensive (1300-1400), i got bridgestone potenza re 970, happy so far. falken is cheaper but lot of people here says their treadwear is to bad (some people say they are too loud some says quiet)

04Coupe 167 000 kms
I try to buy the best tires I can get a deal on. Two of my last three sets of tires were bought used ( watch the classifieds ) with rims. I now have 18" and 19" rims. I buy the best tires I can afford at the time I need them. I believe my next set will be the Hancock v12s. Had a few sets (3) Mich pilot sports, really like them. Would consider going to the US and pickin up a set next time. All depends on what is available when I need rubber.
Whatever you do, don't cheep out on the tires.

Mine's an '03 and has a whopping 70K on it, so it's not impossible. I only drive it in the summer and almost never in the rain. The problem with this is that the car is now out of warranty and I am just now having issues that most people have in the first 70K that are usually covered under warranty. I just had to replace the camshaft position sensor (bank A). Luckily it was the easy one to replace but I will eventually replace all three. Also window motors. Luckily I was able to get them from the US for $185 each. The dealer quoted me $500 each. Damn stealerships.

Normally you buy whatever tires that you can afford or like, there is no particular tire made just for our cars that I know of. I've had good luck with Bridestones, Nitto's and Yokohama's.

Hankook v12's aren't bad, go with those if you dont want to spend a lot on tires.
