Where: Detailing product

Been a few years I have left the G35 forum! Time to get back and see what's going on here...so how's everyone doing?

Back to the topic, I have been ordering from eshine.ca for my detailing product. where do you ppl order? Know anywhere with discount or things like that? I know detailed image do not sent to Canada (asked before), any recommendation? Thanks!

Picus, please chime in if you are reading it!

Heya. For the stuff I don't buy in bulk I use eshine. I don't get a deal, maybe I should talk to Chris about that. For the bulk stuff (compounds mostly, but also pads, qd, etc) I buy from autogeek.net, which is US but has good prices, good shipping, a huge selection etc. They have a 10% off code (autopia).

^ Detailed Image no longer ships to Canada and hasn't for some time now. Like Kevin, I get all of my supplies from eShine (their service is hard to beat) and Autogeek.

Ok, so I am on the right track than. Thank you for info!

I am going to detail my wife 7 years RX330, never been waxed (sealant once last year) no big scratch, only minor swirls...so could i have some product use thought?

what I am planning on doing:

Wash
Riccardo yellow clay (no rinse lube)
Wash
Menzerna PO106FA polish with white pad using random orbit
CG - EZ Cream Glaze
Klasse HGSG
And last 60% carnauba wax (world best wax)

Please give any advice I could use! Plus I am going to do this job spread in a few days with wash before any steps. Thx thx!

Hey kcc, you may have trouble removing all the marring with 106fa - it's a very, very fine polish. If you're ok with just cleaning up say, 50% of the swirls and brightening the paint it should be fine. If you want to get more aggressive maybe try something like Meguiars D300 or Menzerna Power Finish before the 106fa.

Also, I personally probably wouldn't glaze then use HGSG, the glaze will almost certainly hurt the durability of the HGSG. I'd either skip the glaze, or skip HGSH and just use the glaze then worlds best wax. Not a big deal, just that the glaze will likely make HGSG a superfluous step.

^ +1. You'll definitely have issues removing all of the marring with the 0106fa. The 0106fa is certainly a FANTASTIC second stage polish though. I typically finish up with this on virtually all two step customer compounds. I love the stuff.

PO106fa is for final which is very fine polish, than what if I only use Kevin advice for the Menzerna Power Finish only? Will I still get a great result without doing 106fa? Because I am a beginner (first time) at polish, so I try to spend less before I know I am able to do the job. Sealant and wax isn't a problem, keeping different set of MF towel is what I am doing now and I have experience on clay bar (once)...more advice would be appreciated!

I think I will want durablity, than I will pass on the glaze (haven't order glaze yet). it's pity for myself to keep two cars clean and shiny...lol so longer the better!

One more question I forgot to ask, do i need to use paint cleaner for the job I am doing for the RX330? if so, is it going to be before clay or after? Thanks again for my newbie questions!

Oh, one more Q: which pad to use with PO203? Still with white?

Hey kcc - it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish and the paint you're working on. Power Finish is more aggressive than 106fa (not by much...), on a white or orange pad it will normally remove light to moderate swirls and *usually* on a white pad will finish down ok (no haze). However if you use it you MAY need to follow up with 106fa. It all depends on how you find the paint when you start polishing.

If that's too much trouble just stick with 106fa, you will get some light correction out of that.

Ok, made up my mind! gonna go Picus routine!

Power finish using white pad

Super finish (PO106fa) using green pad

If I am going to polish my white paint (next year), do I just do the same step for best result?

If you have any trouble remember to try different pads, PF on an orange will do some good correction. You can follow with PF on a white then 106fa on a green.

The process all depends on the condition and the paint you're dealing with. Sometimes you get lucky and can do something like PF on a white and have it clear all the marring and finish fine. Sometimes you have to wrestle with it.
