Question Rookie question

My 2007 G35 doesn't have wheel locks,are they a good idea, I'm thinking yes.

Are the stock wheels popular with thieves?

Thanks,
Peter

Lol I wouldn't worry too much man. Buy some aftermarket rims, and then you should probably worry about wheel locks

If the thieves want them enough, they will get them.

At least if you have stock rims that someone steals, your insurance can get you new aftermarket rims.

^ aftermarket wheels are covered under most theft insurance.

Wheel locks just make bad theives ruin your wheels instead of stealing them. They hammer the **** out of a big socket and leave you with marred to all hell wheels in end with 4 missing lug nuts.

^ not kics

There's a video somewhere of a guy trying to steal wheels with Project kics locks on. He fails.

I'd much rather refinish a wheel than be without them.

I just picked up my 2007 G35C last Saturday and noticed that it too didn't come with any locks. I searched Kijiji and was able to find a local seller who price matched this guy:

For $20 I figured I may as well lock them up. It gives me some additional peace of mind but I know that if the thief really wants the wheels he'll take them one way or another...
