Ontario owners - purchasing tires from tire rack and driving to the US to install

Hi I am looking to purchase a set of Michelin Super Sport tires for my 2008 G35 Sport Sedan. Has anyone ordered from tire rack and had the tires shipped to a UPS store in Buffalo crossed over and had them installed?

I could of swore I once read a thread about guys purchasing tires from Tire Rack and shipping them to a Buffalo UPS store and they will hold them for you for a small fee.

The savings are quite significant. Can anyone chime in regarding their experience?

For Tirerack check into direct shipping.
They have excellent brokerage clearance rates which make it hardly worth driving over yourself.

If you're looking for a deal, check out Baily tire in Buffalo.
I get better deals there than Tirerack.

I have done that. Tire Rack has affiliated Goodyear shops they can ship the tires to. Then you go over and install them. There is no extra charge for getting them shipped to the shop unlike if you go with the UPS store. Also, the Goodyear shop charges a slightly better rate for the install and balance than advertised. I had my old tires thrown own there.

Also combined the trip with other shopping and pick-up of car parts so it was worthwhile... otherwise, perhaps it would make sense just to have the shipped to Canada.

I did that not long ago with a set of 20"tires for my G however I had them installed here, it was only $80. Cas to get them put on at the shop I go to so I'm not sure what they charge in Buffalo.
I had the tires shipped to CBI its in a past thread of mine.
