parked car hit and run
parked car hit and run
some idiot hit my parked g37 that was parked on a street, damaged drivers side bumper, scratched my custom headlights and rim seems to be scratched/dented a little(more than a curb rash). TD will be taking care of it without any deductibles.
If I were to take it to their preferred body shops, can i ask to put an non-factory look bumper?? The rims seem to go for almost a $1k/wheel brand new or close to that figure, since they're most likely to replace the damaged wheel, can I ask them to pay me that money and I use that to buy some other aftermarket wheels?
Headlights were customized in NY, luckily its just a scratch on them but if I can a brand new headlight, send them to NY to get it customized again, what would insurance say on this?

Here's the main question,
does the insurance company know there are customizations on the vehicle?
if not, they will only pay for an OEM bumper and you would have to pay the difference, most insurance companies require advance notification if there are aftermarket non OEM custom parts because they charge a higher premium, I don't know your specific issue, but with State Farm, I had a 98 Ford Ranger with a custom amp and speaker package, was stolen and since I did not notify them of the additional non OEM parts, they would not pay for anything, costly lesson, good luck let us know how it works out!

Just doing an update on this...TD insurance is covering almost everything including the customized headlights. Have to give them credit for being a super nice insurance company, and no they were not aware of the custom headlights. G37 headlights cost $1400 new, so the company which did the custom work charged $50 to get rid of the scratch. I believe as long as its reasonable aftermarket part it should be ok. Wheels will be repaired so cannot get a new one
