Just curious when everyone decides to take there G35's out of storage for spring/summer....knowing most of us on this forum would never let our babies endure the winter salt!

Mines been out for 3 or 4 days now. A bit early but not having any problems on the summer rubber, and I'm glad to have it back after driving my POS 525i for the winter.

Mine's bathed in salt all the time.
I've never had the discretionary income to waste on multiple cars or the desire to drive a 'winter beater' and suffer the vagaries of low-end junkers just because of a little ice and snow. A driven car is a fine running car, salt be damned. It may have been different years back when you looked at most cars with a salty tang in your eye and they'd begin to disintegrate in front of you.

Normally no, but if you saw my 525i you'd agree. 1992 with rust on just about every panel and 3 or 4 vital things wrong with it. Thankfully I sold it for parts.

After taking it out of storage
other then an oil change, putting air in tires
what are some other things that should be checked out before driving it full time again?

when I go to sleep and dream of it being a Ferrari, and it would have to be like a collectible one too for me not to enjoy it in the snow as well.

LOL judging by your cars posted in your Sigs I can't understand why you guys would store cars that are worth 10 - 12 grand (and depreciating fast) .... with all the winter luxuries like heated seats too, and putting around with POS for the months that you really don't want to be broke down on the side of the road.

I guess with age you tend to understand more where you waste money than where you can invest it instead.

My 08' S 6MT is fun and great in the snow.....before it even starts rusting I'll be tired of it and trading it for something better and newer.

Yep, it sucks that there weren't enough snow to do some snow drifting this year.

The few times that it did snow around here, boy was it fun. VDC off and let the power do the steering....

+1 I don't think people store their 2011 Civics and Corollas. Our cars are basically worth similar to those....

My winter car is more baller than my summer one....

And Roy, it's not about what the cars worth. A lot of us store our cars because we CAN.

speaking of winter tires, i tried the new LM-60s this year, and with the little snow that we got, they are A++. Huge improvement over the LM-25s.
