Acorn/Tuner style lugs for after market wheels.

hey guys,

I recently bought Ian's DPE 20" wheels and now I need to order some lug nuts to use with them.
I know I need the 'Acorn' / 'Tuner' style (OEM shank lugs will not work). I see lots of them on Ebay.

What do you guys use (with after market wheels) , where did you get them and at what cost. I would like to keep it in the $50-$75 price range for 20 or more lugs (a couple spares).

Thanks

Paul I got my spline drive tuner lug nuts and lock nuts from http://www.tires23.com/index.html . I'm sure they were around the price you are talking. I got them to include them with my Enkei 20" wheels when I bought them there. They were great to deal with. Located in Mississauga.

Good move on the wheels, they will look fantastic on your G.

If you don't mind chrome; I'm sure I have at least a couple of sets of spline drives that you can have.

correct me if I'm wrong, but im pretty sure the OEM lugs are by Mcgard, which are already have a tuner profile.

Hey Paul, you should make a trip up to Nextmod! They have a ton of stuff right on the shelf with a nice variety! Different colours, styles, whether you want open ended or closed end. Just ask for Peter, he should be able to definitely help you out! Congrats on the wheel purchase! These will look great on your car

I ordered myself a set of Rays 17hex from Nextmod. Should be here next week. It has a locking lugs so it's a big plus.

Didn't want to deal with aluminum lugs so I went steel.

Yes, Finally!
I knew a few months ago I would buy them if they where still available. I was a little worried you might still be in the running and beat me to them.
I am really looking forward to having them on in a few weeks. I sure hope they look nice.

Also, I spoke with the guys at CAA (formerly Midas) in Kitchener. If I remove them myself, they will swap out my OEM front strut coil springs, with the ProKit springs, for about $50 if I bring them in. Seems like a fair deal to me to save a couple hours and be safe.

After I get the ProKit installed and the new wheels on, I should probably drive on them a few days before getting the alignment setup. The ProKit is previously used (by another Canadian forum member) so shouldn't take long to settle in, right?

Still looking for some lugs too.
Whats the purpose of the open ended lugs being open ended?

For running extended studs. With closed ended lugs they will max out before snugging up the wheels

Why not use one of the lug nut sets Ian offered to you?

Kal tire carries GOOD steel tuner lugs. I've used the ones on my G for over two years, threads are still in good shape as are the lug splines and the supplied lug socket. They run 70-80 bucks.
