i heard that the clear bra sumtimes form a "orange pill" which is caused by the material of the clear bra... anyone has this kind of problem?

That's exactly what I am saying...

I got quoted from the John's, he has $240 for hood and fenders, another $250 for the bumper, which is more reasonable, but I need someone who had theirs done from them giv'in me some feedback of their work... actually they are mobile too, which means they can come over to UR place and do it... PP: so 490 for both hood and bumper? is that tax included? make sure to give us some feed back eh!

 

I haven't decided whether I should really get the bumper done as well, still thinking...

And yes I asked are the prices all tax included? He said well if U pay cash right away, then it should be included, so it's negogiatable... and it's 4 yrs guarantee hehe...

I need anyone give any comments on the clear bras, but I talked to the John guy, he said he had already done quite a lotta cars and he works with the dealerships too, so that 's why they are mobile, and yes I did asked Agincourt onces about it, and heard that they do have ppl come and do them on site, so I am not sure whether its THEM, but sounds like they are not bad too...

yah man... thats called "orange peel" ... like as in a actual orange's skin... how its sorta bumpy.

Sometimes paint will not come out completely flat and bump free ..hence orange peel.

I can see it as being possible the bra may orange peel if it shrinks or something like that or if there is air trapped underneath. ... or if the paint initially has orange peel.

but thats about it .. and I am sure the warranty would cover that ..maybe you should ask..

but again... its peel .... not pill.

I got my installed on the front of hood, front bumper, mirrors, and stripes on doors all for 600 taxes included but cash. 10 year warranty w 3M stuff. The tech who did it was recommended by my buddy who works for Macro Auto Group. And they have him do all their cobras.
The result was fantastic! Wrapped around the edges etc...

hum, can anyone who got clear bra installed post some picture of their car? i wanna see how the orange peel looks and how does the car look with the clear bra to decide rather i should get it or not...

if you're worried you really don't need to be. I had a clear bra on my last car (bmw 3 series) and it wasn't noticeable at a distance ... you really had to get in there to see it. as for the orange peel effect ... well all i can say is that if it's properly done you will be very satisfied.

PP: my car is due to arrive next week. i'm planning on getting the bra done at the begining of the week after (14th). can i ask why you're waiting another month for the bra?

hum, i may considered to get my hood done then, since the bumper should not be that noticeable, and when the time come i may decide to get body kit for my car.. so...

wel, btw, the other reason i am still waiting is that i'm still waiting for my car, according to the dealership i should be getting my VIN# this week, which means two more weeks of waiting...maybe?!

orange peel seen is not noramlly a result of the bra . .its already on the car . ..

very very few car brands have paint that doesnt show some degree of orange peel . .
its also more noticeable on darker colours,

the bra wont enhance the amount seen . .

3M trimline dealerships also do this work . . .
a worthwhile investment on a fine car . .

one more question, i may decide to do clear bra on my car but i'm wondering if i should zaino my car before i do the clear bra or not? any suggestion?
