Clear Bra in Toronto???
Clear Bra in Toronto???
Anyone in the GTA get a clear bra installed on their coupe? If so, who did the install, and how much?
I'm looking to get this kit installed if possible:

Or at very least, I want to get the small section on the front of the hood.

For those that are interested in getting a clear bra for their Infiniti or any other car for that matter, Jerry Liu from Infiniti of Yorkville (Service & Parts), Toronto, Tel. (416) 975-2623, email: jliu@dfcauto.com is giving a great deal; only $250.00 cash deal installed (tax included). You get the hood piece and front fenders.
I just got the clear bra installed on my G35 Coupe. It was a very clean and great job. Feel so much better cranking it up on the highway knowing that the vital body parts are protected.

Sounds like a good deal. Does the job include front of hood, front bumper, and headlights? Will he also do the side mirrors?....... Thanks bro. I think I'll make a trip to Yorkville.

The deal gives you coverage for the front part of your hood and the front fenders. If you want to do the front bumper, headlights and side mirrors, that'll be extra. But I'm sure it'll be reasonable.
I asked Jerry about doing my bumpers and headlights as well, and he said it wasn't really necessary unless you really want coverage on those areas. The critical parts were the hood and fender as those are metal parts and not as flexible as the bumper.

But I think our G35's bumper is easy to get stone chip.
I got a 1/2 inch scratch on the right corner of my bumper after I drove around 120km/h to Tillsonburg.
I hate those highway construction sites.

You should see the bumper on my 3 series. The film was only applied to the hood and worked great there ... but my bumper and all are pitted to hell .... !! I'm definitely going to get the hood and bumper film on the G!
Re: Clear Bra in Toronto???
f2chow, thanks for your experienced comments. Looks like it might be worth the extra bucks to get the film applied on the bumpers. I was thinking of also the rearview mirrors.
Re: Clear Bra in Toronto???
Freezin,
Get the front bumper done. My hood is mint, fenders are mint, but my front bumper is trashed (pitted heavily). I've had the car since the end of Feb, I have 6300 km on it, and this spring was harsh- lots of sand and salt on the roads. For the other guys too, notice the aeros on our Gs seem to flow stuff over the hood. The car is very clean aerodynamically, nothing seems to get to the hood. But the front bumper is a different story. I'm unimpressed with the paint process quality of the car. My Corrado was better after 5 years than the G is after 4 mos. Keeping the front bumper shiny and new will be your biggest challenge with the car.

Re: Clear Bra in Toronto???
Thanks all for the recomendations and insight. I just broke the 1000Km mark, no chips yet. *knock on wood*. Going to get the bumper done for sure now, along with the fenders and hood. How are all your mirrors? Has anyone gotten chips there?
Re: Clear Bra in Toronto???
No chips on the mirrors here, actually no "chips" anywhere, really- more "pitting" on the bumper from the sandy mess the 401 has been all spring. I should mention that I did get "caught" in that freezing rain, ice pellets, snow grains...storm at the beginning of April that hit the province. But for a one hour delay due to a highway closure at Brighton, I would have made it to the Pontiac Supercross in Michigan, but the sequence of events that followed (as rain became freezing rain, etc) left me taking 4 hours to get from Markham to Mississauga in some of the worst weather I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. And then I was stuck there for 3 days. Fortunately, my good friend had bottles of 16 Yr old Lagavulin and 21 Yr old Springbank on hand, to drown my sorrows for missing the race. That trip alone- the amount of salt and sand that was put down thrashed the car. My despise for 18 Wheelers and the sandblasting they fling continues to grow daily. My clear bra will wait until after the front end gets a paint job. Ouch.

Re: Clear Bra in Toronto???
OK guys, I just called up Jerry about the installation of the clear bra, and I was asking him if I already have stone chips on the hood, it will rust in after the installation of the bra.
He TOLD ME THIS "the G35 coupe hood and truck piece is made of aluminum " WHICH MEANS=no rusting... and the other pieces are covered by zinc HAHHA I DIDN"T KNOW THAT, the BEAUTY of our coupes....
so for U guys who were and are worrying about the rusting, NO WORRIES

Re: Clear Bra in Toronto???
Jerry helped get the clear bra for my hood and fenders. Really like the results, but since getting two big *** stone chips on my bumper, I'm serious looking into the the bumper done as well. Even though we don't have to worry about rust, the chips and pits will make the front end look like crap. So whatever I have to spend to get the clear bra for the bumper, I figure it'll still be less expensive than a paint job and I will still have the original paint in mint condition.
