Z-tube experience, pricing?

Hey guys, contemplating a z-tube intake. Anyone out there able to guide my decision between this and a CAI? Personal experience/review would be great! Anyone have pricing out there? I was told mid $200 from my dealer in Windsor. They also do not sell clear signals. Any suggestions where I could go? Want to buy in Canada. Thanks

Got my Tube from my Nissan Dealer.....$150. You could prolly find someone who wants to sell theirs privately either from a G or Z owner.
I've run both Z-tube and K&N intake on mine ($350) and like both, but I feel the Z-tube with OEM intake is very effective and hard to beat.

Is the Z-tube not an intake? My dealer made it sound so. Would you not add a K&N to the Z-tube? Just a little confused, sorry......you say that that the Z-tube with oem intake is effective. Need a little clarification. Appreciated. Wondering if we could meet up next time I am in Cambridge area to swap ideas, and listen to your borla.

GSM- You got your computer all set up again? (How can we live without them!)

Is that price the regular price at Nissan for the tube? I was going to check in Guelph, or my old Nissan dealer up here. I want to install the Z-tube for sure but a figure I got until spring to find one. Do you know if the Guelph dealer has problems with z-tube installations concerning warranty?

I was told by my dealer that it does not affect warranty.

Smilepro,
The Z-tube fits in between the throttle valve and the MAF sensor. No big deal there, and yes a K&N panel filter is a good addition otherwise everything else is OEM.
The K&N CAI intake I mentioned was a full intake replacement for everything downstream of the throttle valve.

Meeting up would be great except I'n not sure when I can break away tho....Best to wait 'till spring when we have our first meet

Hi Wayne, yes, back in business but with new O/S (XP) and tons of reloading/downloading to do. UGGGGG.

The price my dealer gave me was with a 15% discount. Wait for a while. Once I get sorted with my new M, Mine will be available....we can work something out. Just remind me later.

As with most mods, As long as they're installed properly and don't cause an issue, then there will be no warranty issues.
If there's any doubt with an install, I would work with your dealer to make sure things are ok.
I've done this a couple of times and my dealer is cool with it.

C.

Thanks Colin and yes keep me in mind for that for sure. I was going to mention it to the dealer when I go for my first service. It won't be long I put 2,600km in less than 4 1/2 weeks now. I am always looking for an excuse to drive somewhere out of town constantly. My wife and I just love the new X.

Hey guys, thanks for your help. Been doing a little more research on this site, and my next question: what is the pop charger? You guys consider the technosquare ECU treatment?

just did, the pop charger looks like nothing more than a performance air filter. Driving an 04 black 6mt. Tint is the only thing I've done, but that will change.
