G Sedan to Gen Coupe

So lately I've been very keen to buy a Genesis. What's everyone's opinion on the car? Most people I talk to tell me to **** Hyundai lol. I drove the new 2013 2.0T today and although it's only 274hp it builds full torque at only 2000rpm. It's slower than my G, but not by miles and I figure since it's turbo I'll have a bit of fun tinkering with it to get more power. It should be a lot easier to tap power from that car than it has been in the G, it is after all the same motor that's in the Mitsu Evo. The new 2013 also looks pretty striking in Becketts Black.

The 2.0 R-spec is $15-$20k cheaper OTD than the 370Z. The only problem I'm having is the disgusting trade in value the dealer wants to give for my car. I have an 03 6MT with only 150k on it, and I was offered less than $6k for it. **** that!!!!!! I told the dealer if that was the case I'd give it to them without the Weds wheels, Brembo brakes, Quaife LSD, HSD coils, etc. but then he offered me only $4k. Ended up leaving the dealership feeling insulted. But thoughts of the Genesis have just been dancing in my head all day and it looks like I may soon own one unless something comes along and changes my mind.

Anywho, looks like a part out is coming. But please don't turn this into massive FS thread. Anyone that's interested in a parts list that my car has can PM me about it.

Hey Faisal! nooo, why get rid of it after you put in the new exhaust?!

Even if you want a Genesis, roll in the 5.0L V8 sedan! Stick with the Sedan platform, no one has ever done anything to it, you will be the first and unique. Too many Coupes out there now, bored of them. The Tau V8 will smoke any Coupe! I say bag one and throw on some dubs would be the first order of business!

Dang, I'd hate to see the end of one of the nicest sedans around...I do like the V8 sedan idea, though I suspect that's a whole different price range.

Dealerships ALWAYS offer some insulting price for your car.
Sell it privately if anything.

Also, I think the Genesis looks nice, but I feel a little bit as if they are like the car people buy if they cannot afford a G37 coupe lol.

Genesis C is a nice looking car and a bargain. It's not nicer looking than your G but it (and any new car) obviously has updated tech.
If you think the trade in value of your ~10 year old G is bad, wait until the Hyundai is 10 years old and see what that's worth.

i think if you can get $6k trade-in after you part out your car.. you should take it...

part it out first and see.. i like the looks of the older genesis coupe better.. the new ones look too similar to volester or whatever it's called.. but go with the hyundai..

No I won't be there. Never been either but may be some day.
I will be at by brother-in-law's 50th Saturday and fully expect to be hungover Sunday.
