I think...the.....mod ..bug......is .....dying.........

I never thought it would come to this but I think my mod bug is dying Yes that's right I have lost most (NOT ALL) interest to do anymore mods to my G.
Sure it would be nice to have an exhaust or a nice front lip...or even some new wheels but I have more interest in modding my house than my car . Next year its only gonna get worse, I have huge plans for my backyard including a new deck that wraps around an oval pool, outdoor bar, stone work and landscaping so there goes 30 + Grand but boy will it look nice when I'm done and I'll be enjoying it allot more than my car.

I've even found more interest in Mountain biking, I've lost 6 lbs in less than a month from biking and I enjoy riding.

So it looks like my days of modding are coming to an end. After the loss of my 04' G things just haven't been the same and I started thinking all the other things I could have done with my cash than buy kits and little exhaust and engine pieces. Now don't get me wrong here I'll probably always own some kind of a sports car/sedan but tinkering around with it may be a thing in the past.

I understand where you're coming from Roy. It makes far more sense to spend your hard earned dollars on family and home. A time will come again when the car hobby (or some other wallet draining thing) will fit into your life.

You can still do the little things with the car. I spent $25 on mine this weekend. Guess what I did?

My mod bug comes and goes in relation to different stages of my life. I typically come up with goals for power/looks/handling in my head when I get a new car, then slowly (much more rapidly with the G than my Maxima), move towards that then just enjoy it after it gets there rather than overdoing it.

Once it's done, it's all just maintenence from there onwards.

Starts all over again when I get a new car.

+1 to house mods. That's a big reason why cars took a major backseat for a number of years for me.

I think it's easier with the G than some other cars around there. Handles well stock, looks good, sounds good. $/HP mods which are reasonable in price short of FI are few and far between. Plus you can look at what other people's cars turn out to be when they take it too far turning the G from to and then .

I was bit by the OEM 'mod' bug when I got this car:

OEM door grips
OEM shift ****
OEM mudguards

Gave up looking for OEM 18's in mint condition so I grabbed the F14's instead.

Cars are money pits, we all know that, but if it's your passion, you don't really want to deny that.

I did the house and 4-door car thing for a few years, now I have a G coupe with child seats. Got some funny looks removing this at the track

I'm trying to power thru my mid life crisis. I considered a G more responsible than a bike and consider a few "value mods" reasonable. Took the kids to Disney then bought some Motordyne parts while I was in the US... "it's all about balance", right?

Someone please reaffirm my logic

The best choice you can make their. At least when you fix up your house the value goes up, unlike a car where it just goes down. Must show pix of the house and all the plans your going to do.
