Calgary weekend mechanic needed
Calgary weekend mechanic needed
I'm looking to save some bucks and not pay shop rates for some performance parts install work. Also hoping if possible to assist with some of the work just to learn for my own personal experience and to get more out of my new hobby. Willing to compensate of course.
It's a really well kept 2007 G35X sedan and the undercarriage is showroom condition or so I was told by the pre-buy mechanic who inspected her for me.
I am getting in Hotchkis front and rear sway bars this week and would like to start things off with that asap. After that, I'll be getting the Eibach pro kit springs for the X. And front and rear camber kits as well. Would like to get the springs done by whoever can help me out with all this, and the camber kits would go in a week later, maybe by a tech at Precision when she goes for an alignment.
And if all goes well from a budgeting point of view, I'd like to get the FI cat back.
Shoot me a PM.
Thanks,
Bryan

I had one PM with a recommendation for what I was looking for but the rec's weren't exactly flowing in on this board. Very quiet board given the zero replies to this thread.
So maybe there is a shortage of guys in Calgary that are a good alternative to shop rates that can work on a G. I found one thru beyond.ca. and if anyone is looking for a recommendation I'd be happy to share the info I have. I had my Hotchkis sways installed today and the experience was excellent. I almost don't want to share it but will if asked.

You seem angry no one wanted to come work on your car
a few years ago we used to get together and help each other with mods. I thought of offering but if I am going to wrench on cars my own needs attention before I work on other peoples stuff.
Apologies to the members here. Nothing personal. I have gotten way more from this site than I've given back and I'm in debt and have no reason to complain.
You are kind of late to the party we used to get together and have mod parties but it seems the mod bug has died in the Sr. Members and most Alberta guys have moved on or quit modding thier cars. Mine gets the minimum amount of work to keep it running good. Even then I find myself paying a shop to do work for me even though I am more than capable even quicker than the shop in many cases. I just don't have the time/interest anymore. It is crappy but I have noticed it lately.
That sure seems to be the trend. I'm not local but I have seen that in a lot of members. For the most part now if the car is going to a shop it's to get fixed, not trixed. Gets old. If you do take it on yourself the member support here is really helpful or at least can be if you go about it the right way. Good luck!
I have to man up. You're right, I was pissed off. At the internet in general in a way. I was attacked and pretty badly insulted by someone last night on a board for another one of my hobby's (regarding my taste in car actually, in particular my TSX) and that set me off and I should have chilled out before posting on G35.

Glad you got your sways on at least, first bite from the mod-bug.

I never go on beyond, I use to go on 780 t00ners a bit but it isn't much better we have a little OMC (old man club) and 5-6 of us usually hang out at the 780 meets aside from those guys not much reason to go on that site either.
