first winter in g35 coupe

Hey guys --

I'm already a bit late to Toronto's winter party... so I'm trying to sort out a winter set up for my '05 g35 coupe. Seems like everyone's got a different idea on how it's done.

Bought it with summers on 19's (225/40 front, 245/40 rear) -- but obviously need new wheels for winter. Found a set of lightly used WS70 blizzaks on 17" sport edition rims off a 2012 genesis. Staggered set up, 225/50 front and 225/55 rear.

Never dealt with a staggered set up before and admittedly not the most tire/wheel savvy chick, but I understand a bit of it. I will say I don't understand much about offset or how that might be an issue here. From what I've read in forums they shoulllllllld be alright I think? Waiting to confirm the wheel width (they say they think they're 7.5") -- but thoughts on this set?

Or thoughts on other set ups that might work better for Toronto winter?
Thanks!

You didn't include the offset on the numbers you listed and they are very important!

yep post the offsets. you can find a cheap set of 17's on the forums here and put winter tires on those. But i am not the best person to ask about winter set-ups cause i live in socal.

Thumbs up Winter's coming

Last year i drove my G coupe in the winter with 20 inch all season tires on my 20 inch rims. No problems just take your time and be safe. Common sense and some good all season tires is all it takes.

I've always used 17 inch rims and a non staggered sit up.

The earlier year G35's (03 - 05) had the luxury of dropping down to 16" for winter, and the 215-60-16 is the right size. Thinner tire, bites deeper, cheaper, but you need to find correct rims.

Rim Specs:

17x7.5 (FR)...offset 1.18” (30mm)
17x8.0 (RR)...offset 1.30” (33mm)
5-bolt

I've used these guys many times, very knowledgable, good prices. Alan is the guy to speak to.

For USA comparison pricing and sizing

17"

Good Luck with your search.

PS
It might be worth your while to call your local Infiniti dealer and speak to someone in the parts dept. for all your options. Then you have all the correct information.
BTW, welcome

Hey -- thanks a million!
And sorry for the super late reply, crazy week.
I checked out Simply Tire and they're great -- obviously busy right now, but great. I'll be set up with them early December.

You're a gem!

The person didn't know 'em -- probably a good sign not to buy from them anyway, haha.

most people only know the first two numbers, because that's all most people care about .
