Tinting rear taillights

I wanted to do a slight tint on my rear taillights, has anyone done this? I'm not keen on using the tint spray but if that's my only option please let me know how you did yours. I have done the spray tint to one of my vehicles back in the day and it did come out Ok, I had to add clear coat to make them shiny.

Remember I DON'T WANT TO GO DARK just a slight tint would be nice. Any help is appreciated.

You have the option of using tint overlays, that way if you get tired of the "Look" removing it only takes minutes rather than hours...Search

You might wanna try bluebats overlays. He has different shades of vinyl tint to apply and they're easily removable if not desired anymore. Here's a link to his thread on here along with some of his pictures.
