What size tires and rims should I be looking at?

Hi
I just purchased a 2014 q60 sports premium awd.
I'm now looking for winter tires and rims.
I needed clarification on a couple of items please.

Tires: it can fit 225/50/18.
Can it also fit aspect ratio 225/55/18 and 225/45/18?

Wheels:
The sports model comes with bigger calipers and i read it is difficult to find wheels that will fit.
Are alloy wheels my only option? And how do I ensure new winter wheels will fit with the bigger calipers?

Thanks
Daniel

You need to make sure they clear the calipers by first being a wide enough rim (could the wheel get 0.5" closer to the caliper?) and then you have to worry about off set from there. You don't want the face of the wheel to hit the caliper. On the back of your OEM wheels you can find specs and go from there, but it will likely be published online.

Places like (no affiliation) tire rack make it really easy to just buy wheels and tires that fit with no research.
