poor experiance at Dixie Infiniti

I'm a real newbee at this and just don' know how to react. I picked up a 2004 G35 two weeks ago. It needed the rear stone guards replaced ( under Warranty ) just infront of the rear wheel wells. They sent it out to Apple to do. When I got back 5 hours later they said that while they were removing the guard some paint came off as well ( 8 cm. by 2 cm.. They asked to keep the G and send it to their body shop on Monday. Got a loaner. Not happy. Should the paint cure before they put the guards back on? They seemed sorry. Should I be asking for a complete wash and wax before they put the guards back on. Any and all thoughts appreciated.
Thanks

I wouldn't ask for a wash and wax from ANY dealership unless you want to go over your car again to remove the swirls they will inevitably cause.

Welcome to G35Driver whatacar and congrats on the new ride.
As you have probably heard, the paint on our G's is weak and brittle in places, and it seems they found one of them when they removed the old stone guard.
You should talk to them about the paint curing b4 the new stone/g is applied. To my mind it needs to set first.
Are they removing the fender to do the repair, so that they can bake the new paint? They should.
Being a black ride, the rest of the car or at least the rest of that side will need to be buffed and polished to blend in the repairs.
What else they'll give you for the inconvenience is debateable. You could ask for a free oil change as a good gesture to bring you back. They shouldn't quibble about that.

I would not ask them to wash my car...basically i dont trust them on any thing other then things that is under warrenty. Last time they wash my car was the first time i had service there. And EVer since~ they never wash it (agincourt) which is fine for me because i usually go to other place for wash and wax

Blazz and subrobo, you were both right. Swirls galore when I picked my G up. You usually get what you pay for. They touched up some stone chips on the hood as comp for the grief. Thanks for the cure tip gsedanman. So glad to get the G back I forgot to ask for the oil change.
Overall, not as bad a dealership experience as it started out to be.
Thanks for helping me through it.
