As promised, rantings on blah, er, white. I really think it looks great on the G coupe. It looked great on the old 911RS (gutted lightweight early 90's version of the car- no ac, virtually no insulation, pull-wire to open the door), on the Countach, on the Esprit turbo, on the VW Corrado (may seem out of place on the list, but the white really brought out the lines on this affordable fun coupe- though mine was British Racing Green), and maybe the M3. There are so many cars that can't pull off Ivory, eh. I've never thought the Vette, or any other GM could do it, I can't think of any other Americans that stand out in white (well maybe the Mach III Stang, but that's debate-able), Mercs fair better in classy neutrals, but not white, Audi does a nice pearl, but not a real ivory, the 300Z looked cheap in white somehow (same with the original NSX- perhaps due to the "black under glass" cues that were popular on Japanese cars in the early 90's.)
Tell us what you think of the ivory, folks. Along with it I'd love to hear what say you as to other sports cars, past and present that bring out Ivory. Tough not to look good in sports car clothing if you're red or black, or any of the 3 shades of silver the G comes to us in. White on the other hand, tough sell if you don't have the figure. IMHO, the G has the right curves (probably in much the same way as the aforementioned 911) to pull it off.
Cheers,
Derek

I think the white is great on the sedan as well. That's why I bought one. The Ivory Pearl is a great colour, much better than the 'refrigerator white' of most cars. Not as deep a pearl as on say a Caddie though, more subtle, but still looks good.

Re: vanilla

Toyota did the nice job on Ivory Pearl too. Solara, SC430, LS430, and old model ES300 are look great with Ivory Pearl.
