Nice wheels!

Hey Harry

Great wheels. I'm the guy from Calgary who was talking to you about the MSR's that PDT is running on his black G and inquiring about 19" wheel packages. Just got my springs in and will be doing the install this coming week. I'll see how it looks after the drop. If I decide to go with 19's I'll definitely be giving you a call.

I'd still go with the Hankook K104's to go with my tire/wheel budget and also because they perform well. I wouldn't mind a set of Pilot Sport 2's but they are mega expensive.

I like the MSR's that PDT has on his car (polished lip, hyper dark spokes), but I also like the HP Evos. I have them now in 18's but for some reason when I see rides like IllG35's/Martin's former G35 sedan with the 19's, the 18's don't do it for me anymore. BigH pointed out that there might be a possible rubbing issue due to the offset of the Evo 19's (+38 and I think the rears are 19 x 9.5) but that was when I was considering running 275's on the back. But Martin ran 275's on the back with no rubbing issues and his car was lowered:

Ill G35

There are some other wheels I like (Axis Supermesh 19's).

I'll post before/after pics after the springs are installed.

Pro-Kits installed - BEFORE & AFTER

UPS delivered my Pro-Kits just before the weekend, and I made an appointment this morning with A-1 Autobody to install the springs and do the alignment. Barry (service mgr) and Robin (specialist/mechanic) did a great job. After paying for their services and stepping outside to pickup the car, all it took was one look to put a big smile on my face. It was actually quite shocking to see the wheel gap all but eliminated, especially on the 4 x 4 style stock wheel gap. Total cost for the installation was $355 including GST (no PST for us Albertans!

I had picked it up at about 5 pm, so my commute home was in the thick of rush hour - i.e. no opportunity to drive the car in a spirited manner to see if the car handled differently. Sitting in the car, it feels like it is more squat and planted. I did perceive the car to feel more stable (less body roll) and thus far the ride did not feel overly harsh (on my way home I had to drive over a few train tracks and speed bumps).

I've attached a couple pics.

The first one is actually a BEFORE/ THEN WHEELS / THEN EIBACHS progresssion, going from completely stock with the OEM 17's to the 18" HP Evo's, to the Evos with the Eibachs installed.

The second one is just a before & after side shot.

Unfortunately, my car in the after (with drop) shots doesn't look very clean. I had just gotten home and was excited to snap some pics, so the car has a healthy smattering of bugs on the front grill, some brake dust on the front wheels, and a not-so-shimmery finish. It's going to rain tonight and maybe tomorrow so I didn't think it was worth it to wash the car.

As far as future mods - well I guess it's the clear corners, then maybe paint matching the rear and side valances and getting an aero NISMO bumper (maybe). From then maybe a Z-tube, etc. or maybe a set of 19's. The 18's are probably the better bet because my G is my daily driver.

I'll update this thread with comments after the springs have settled and after I've had a chance to drive the car for a week or two. I'm off to go study the camber specs sheet that they gave me.

Sorry for the long post!!!

Don't get me wrong - I love the look of 19's, but I also gotta be practical as well.

But that doesn't mean I can't / won't change my mind!

Nah I think the wheels you have are fine. The 19's just gobble up more power.

Very nice improvements BMC. The original wheel tire combo just left too much gap.

well, now i've gone and done it...

hey guys... new here and a new 2005 G35 6MT Sedan owner!

i wasn't expecting to buy one since i thought that all the 2005 G35s in Calgary were spoken for. well, they r not since i just bought one today. i was looking for a Silverstone with black interior, and low and behold, there it was on the showroom floor. well, i was "only looking" and didn't really have intentions on buying right then and there, but my "financier", who was with me at the time, surprised me by saying we should buy the car now... wasn't ready for that!

anyhoo, thanks to this forum and u guys, it wasn't a hard decision to make and i signed the papers for the G35. has only 19km on it. bought the Clearbra, as from what i have read, Infiniti's paint kinda sucks.

the one thing i wasn't sure about buying (which i did), was the undercoating, rust inhibitor, paint protector, and leather protectant. i know that this 'package' is a bit of a rip job, but the question i have is, does it need to be done??? if not, i'm going to have them not do it and save myself some $$$. comments please!

i'm really looking forward to getting the G35 as it has been about 11 years since i had a new vehicle. the '95 Mustang GT is being retired... and probably sold. it will be nice to be a bit pampered compared to the 'Stang.

is there anything i should know when i pick up the G35 on Wednesday? anything i should look for specifically or have them do? words of wisdom would be much appreciated.

one last thing. i hope i'm not being too forward when i ask how much insurance is costing forums members in Calgary or Edmonton. i'm getting around $1600 and up (WAY UP) for one year. more expensive than my 'Stang!!! anyone want to recommend a broker?

again, thanks guys!

Congrats on the ride!

As for insurance, I went through Melloche Monnex. They offer discounts to members of certain professional bodies/organizations so I was able to take advantage of this and was charged what I felt was a good premium ($1146 for the year).

Post pics of the ride when you take delivery!
