What Are Your Choices???

With all of the talk of muscle cars going on yesterday, it brought back a lot of memories from when I was a kid. Between my father and my uncle, I grew up around alot of muscle cars.

My father has always been a Mustang guy, while my uncle was always a Corvette guy. Two of the Vettes that my uncle had that stand out in my mind where a 66 Stingray convertible and a 63 Split Window (very rare). His 66 had the 427, while his 63 Split window had the 327. I would say that his 66 Stingray is probably the fastest car that I have ever been. Too bad I was too young at the time to drive it.

Anyways, just for the heck of it, I went to LMC's website (www.legendarymotorcar.com) to see what they currently have in inventory. I'd be interested in finding out what everyone's top 3 choices for cars they have in their inventory?

Here are my picks.

1. 1966 Shelby Original 427 Cobra (One of my favorite cars of all time)
2. 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 (My favorite Mustang, along with the GT500KR)
3. 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda (The Sassy Grass Green with only 7889 original miles....WOW!)

Btw, have any of you Ontario guys been to the LMC showroom? That would be incredible to visit!!

I got a G, I could care less about "muscle" cars. They sound like a broken fridge.

Shane... I think I will make a point of visiting that place this summer. The cars there will be pretty high priced , but I think it would be fun place to tour. It isn't that far from our place.
I wouldn't be surprised if inTgr8r has been there before, it's not very far from him. How about it Ian, ever been there, any input on the place?
Brings back fun memories of my older Mopars. I know GSM was also into the performance Mopars back then .
Three of mine that bring back good memories are:
1. 1963 Plymouth Belvedere-I put in a 383 Road Runner engine with 4spd., 3:91 gears.(I did the engine and tranny swap and then we drove it to Cape Cod from Ontario a week later for our honeymoon )
2. 1970 Cuda- 440, 4:10 Dana, B&M modified torqueflite.
3. 1973 Duster 340, headers, gears, auto.
Then came the house and 3 kids

Yeah Wayne, I am sure the cars at LMC are very high priced (and rightfully so IMO). I wish we had a place like that here on the east coast to visit.

Shane, you nailed it exactly the same as I would have. I saw a car show a few months ago where they compared about 8-10 different big block muscle cars '69-'70. They were the top machines from GM, Ford, Chrysler, AMC and were tested on 0-60,1/4 mile, braking from 60, handling on a slalom, and burn out capability. It was incredible and the 429 Mustang blew everything else away in many categories including the burnout and 0-60 and 1/4 mile.

Deane, that doesn't surprise me one bit about the Boss 429. Truly a sweet piece of machinery!! The size of the valve covers on those 429s still blows me away. You know that engine is huge when the battery has to be placed in the trunk because of lack of space under the hood!!!

My sister's best friends brother owned one an AMX 390. It was black. I never drove in it but I know he loved it. That was one of the cars they used in the shootout I mentioned above.

Fell in love with the AMX when I was driving a beat up '59 Chevy (six with 3 in the tree) in high school.....
The golf pro at the public course where I played drove a blue one with white racing stripes.
I used drool over that car.

hehe....I also had a beat up Chevy as a 1st car in school. A $100 1958 Chevy Nomad with a six and 3 on the tree. It was so rusted out that one of the headlights fell out when I was driving from Peterborough to Oshawa.
The good ol days

You know about the '68 GT500, I also had a '68 'Cuda (340),, I resisted the temptation of the Hemi., my bro had the similar Swinger.
Very spirited rides.

I must say the LMC offer of the Dodge Charger RT Hemi is tempting tho.

Wayne, We should visit LMC showroom this summer for sure. It's not far down the road from me (north of Milton) and would be a dynamite visit.
I saw the same TV show Deane talked of comparing muscle cars of the late '60's early '70's . Seems to me the 'Boss-9' won by a whisker over the Hemi Cuda, and LS-7 Chevelle.

If you and Wayne visit there this summer, would you mind taking some pics for me?

I'm definitely down for that Colin, we would all have to wear bibs to catch the drool if they have those cars there.
We should definitely do that this summer, we could have an O.F. Club tour and perhaps some of the young-uns could tag along too
And yes we would take pics Shane.
