Car in hospital again!

Hey guys just a quick blurb about my poor car. Had it 4 weeks now and I had to bring it into the dealership last Thursday as my the service engine soon light came on and I had absolutely NO power. The thing was idiling at approx 600rpm and just barely running. Left it with them overnight and the following day they called and said it was fixed. On the invoice (no charge) it said multiple missfire code **** and fixed.
Well guess what. Today I'm driving along and the same bloody thing happens again. Now I'm upset. I left it with them for the day and got it back tonight fixed again. Apparently it had to have cyl #3 ignition coil replaced. As per invoice. We will see if this does the trick.
I guess what I'm getting at is, has anyone else had this kinda trouble? I have crazy thoughts running through my head like I've got a lemon, and is this going continue to happen and is it doing any other damage to the engine?

To finish on a upside. The service at Woodchester Infiniti has been stellar. They looked after me just like what their brochure said. Imagine that, a company that stands behind what it says......

Ignition coil problems are rare on our cars.
Did they replace the coil the first time as well or just the second time??

Unless there is a secondary issue that caused the coil(s) to go,
you should be OK.
(check an Audi forum if you want hear about coil issues)

Also the performance of the car you described is a limp mode.
It's programmed to help protect the engine & not leave you stranded.

Good luck, chances are it'll be clear sailing now that the coil is replaced.

My guess is you will be fine.
I have had two experiences like that on two newer Honda products except they were both faulty fuel injectors.
First was my wife's Civic which ran rough(on 3 cylinders after owning it for around a month). They diagnosed it right away and never had another problem with the car fo the next 7 years. the second time was with her Acura TL and a similiar problem. However the car ran perfectly but was giving a check engine light. It ended up being a faulty injector as well that was giving a bad code but was actually operationg ok.(according to them ) The problem there was it took 13 trips to the dealer to diagnose it properly. After that the car was great and had no further issues what so ever.

I'm glad to hear Woodchester fixed you up well, and sorry to hear of the issues. There's not been many problems of that kind here, and I'm sure with yours, it's a 'one off'. Don't get discouraged, the chances of you having a lemon are very slim indeed. and with Woodchester backing you, you'll be fine.
Welcome to 'Driver BTW, let us know how it goes, and G/L.

Colin.

For example...what does BTW, IMO mean? If you have others, please share with me.

I'm pulling my hair trying to figure it out.

Please help.

Acronyms

Chico...Here you go, All you wanted to know, but were afraid to ask. Some of these are a bit over the top, but if you are stumped on one, it probably has the answer here.

Hope it helps: http://www.gaarde.org/acronyms/

Wayne, thanks for the help!! I don't mind some of these acronyms but I detest some of the terrible grammar on the site.
