Finally, after months of deliberation and struggle, I finally decided on the G35 coupe. Never thought I would want to buy a Japanese car as a bimmer fan. I'm might still keep my 3 series as a winter car though.

Anyhow, I paid MSRP and ordered the car through Agincourt in Toronto. Couldn't bargain below MSRP but Michael, the sales, throw in a 'Lifetime free oil change' and promised some more freebies at delivery. ETA should be mid-Jan.

Some questions for you guys here.

1)I was told that the console and door trimmings were real aluminium but I remember reading at this forum that it is just painted on. Who is right?

2)I was qoute $1800 for a winter tire/rim package. They tell me that it will be 17" Bridgestone but are unsure about the model/width etc. What do you guys have and do you think its expensive.

3)Anybody opted for the Rust, Paint and Leather protection package? I was qoute $750 for the whole package. Is it worth it?

4)I asked my sales about the body side molding and he didn't know how much it cost nor did he know of anybody that have installed it. Any G35 coupe with BSM in Canada?

5)They can install the 3M clear coat protection for $399. Do you guys know of anyplaces that will do it in Toronto for less than that?

-> it's way too expensive. Just go to any Canadian Tire and ask for Winter tire/steel wheel set. you can get as low as three digit dollar.

-> I dont recommend that cause it's actually markup for dealers. They just simply cover your car with cheap wax.
You can do the underbody coating for less than $200 sometimes less than $100 at local paint shop.

1 - door trim (the plate on the inside bottom edge) is real aluminium, the console is plastic and easily scratched.

2 - I paid $2100 including tax and shipping for my 17" tires and wheels. Make sure you get a set that fits over the Brembos (not all 17" wheels do)

Dunno about the rest! Hope that helps..

 

I paid 500$ for the front bumper+hood+fenders + Mirrors + back bumber (complete back bumper).

The hood got a 12 or 14 inch piece(i don't remember but its big)..

remember you pay but the square/meter/or foot

They might just install a 6 inch piece on your hood and charge you $$

BTW, I just have to pay a difference of $134 to upgrade the oil change package to the synthetic one, something which I will definitly do.

I ordered my sedan way back from Agincourt, though I dealt with Gary ( their GM ) directly, I do know Michael very good. Lately, I have always talked to him via email and other means about how they not giving any discount on coupes or even sedans. The most they offer is like $500 off MSRP.

I have the same life time oil and filter change as you do, it's only $350 if you go purchase it by the way, and that's what I did. As for any other packages, I said "thanks but no thanks" to them. To me, none of the dealer offerred package such as Rust proof , paint protection or interior protection is worth the money. Idealy, I don't keep my cars too long after their warranties expires. I'd say if you tend to keep this car for 6 years or less, I wouldn't bother to get it.

Winter Tire/Rim package for $1800 seems to be OK, but check out the post by Gordee, he actually bought some rims and nice winter tires for less then $1200 I believe. I suppose the rims they offer is the Infiniti stock 17". Personally, I think the money can be better spend to get your own rims and winter tires.

G35: Black with Willow/Canadian Premium Package.
Z3: Silver with Red leather interior.
