The amp is an Audison SRx5; not massive raw power, but
extreemly clean & dynamic.
What made a huge difference is the 6ch preamp line driver.
Yes AVIC from sourced mentioned... $1.7K but you didn't hear it from me
It is a sweet system

I'm sure that the end result is incredible. I'm curious about the quietness of the car itself- road isolation.

It's a huge improvement in the sound isolation.
Well worth the effort.
You'll get a chance soon to compare with last time you were in the co-pilot seat.
If you like you can take the wheel & I'll give your 6spd a work out

Too sweet...
I've seen the AVIC used in a lot of ways, but nothing quite so clean. That's too funny of how close you passed the shift ****. Good thing, eh?
Where did you pick up your Double DIN piece from? I'd so love to put that new Eclipse AVN5435 NAV unit, and knowing that I have a local expert nearby will make me all the more courageous!
I'll be in touch when I'm ready!
Al
PS. Did you ever hear a member by the name of 'Solice'? He did some amazing things too with his system - but same tactics as you, high quality and not scalp rattling bass. I'd be interested to see the comparison if you knew his system.

coupe soundproofing update
Well it was a crappy day outside so I decided to get started on this project. I've got her all torn apart now and the first part of the sound deadening completed. I was only planning to do the trunk but once I saw that I needed to go inside to get to the rest of the wheel wells- I guess you know the story. The only thing I didn't take apart is the door panels and that's likely coming! Since the battery is disconnected and various parts are all over the place I've got some motivation to keep going and get this done in the next week or two.
Ian, thanks again for everything. I've used all the Bquiet and am now at the foam stage.
Here's a few photos of my baby.
