LOL...
I thought you were just going to get "started"

It's funny once you get on a roll with this, it's really not that bad to do.
It'll be very interesting to hear about the final results.

Ian this is not cool, look what you have started. Rbull ripped his coupe apart, I ripped my car apart or at least I complete the trunk.

Winter time and I will start the inside and replace all the speakers and HU next. This site is dangerous for your health (GF Killing you), and bank account. I need to win that 6/49 this wed.

haha Ian. Actually getting it to this stage wasn't too bad at all. I think cutting the foam will be harder as will the re install. I marked a number of my parts so I would be less confused later on getting it back together. You probably noticed the coupe is a bit different with no spare tire well. I am tempted to get some more BQuiet and do the whole trunk, inside the doors and the rear side panels as well. I take it that's what you used for the inside of your doors.
Since the pics aren't working on this thread I couldn't see your install again.
I was curious about the trunk lid liner, the locations where you used low expansion foam and where you used the high density foam besides the trunk wheel wells.

If I had the dough I'd get rid of the sound system now too and get something decent.

I'll see if I can resurect some of the old pics.

The expansion foam & trunk lid are more sound system (sub-woofer) related,
to kill the excess vibration.
Forgot to mention, make sure you have lots of spare blades for the utility knife.
That foam takes the edge off in a hurry.

Thanks for reminding me GF don't know about that one yet. What she don't know will not hurt her. I told her no christmas gift this year from me because I am poor she looked at me and said I am expecting a gift in the value of the last mod you have purchase for your car. Smart woman, damit should have picked the dumb ones.

Ian, thanks for redoing the pics.

I now have a much better appreciation of just what you did affter working on some of this myself. My job so far is like a drop in the bucket compared to what you did. I can't believe the level of detail in every square inch of the interior with expansion foam, BQuiet and the hd foam. you must have used one heck of a lot of BQuiet. Kudos. I wish I had driven in your car while you were out east.
I think I need to rethink my job so far!!

LOL, will the BQuiet factory have any more if I want to order it? You've got a rolling sound chamber

I don't know about being done by then if I do what you did. That's just not going to happen.
My wife is tired of all the parts laying around the house and the garage, so I've got to get it back together by then.

In a lot of ways it makes sense to leave the rest until you you decide about the sound system.

Hi Ian,

Where abouts are you located? I'm planning to install my system but wasn't considering the soundproofing but looks like it's actually doable so I'm thinking I might try it myself. I'm hoping if you're not too far off, maybe I could stop by and check out your install and see what I should do.

How does this B-quiet stuff differ from Dynamat?

Thanks,
Ed

Ian,

That's cool. I'm in the Richmond Hill area, work in Thornhill, so I'm thinking we're not that far away. I just did some research on the B-Quiet stuff and looks like it's the best bang for the buck. Now I guess I need to order the materials and will need a lot of pointers. Looks like I will need to tear the car apart if I were to do a clean install of this material.

Thanks,
Ed
