OK as promised here are a few pics of my progress on soundproofing
& new sound system.
It's taking a little longer than expected......

-very nice work Ian, shows you are a person that pays attention to detail. Definitely a Professional job . Can hardly wait to see and hear the end result once it is completed.

Also great pictorial of your work in progress.

Nice job Ian. The end result should be terrific.
Can't wait to hear it.

I've studdied those pics closely and can't find a single out of place screw.

That's OK....
I am substituting other fasteners for some of the OEM screws.
So.... technicaly, I will have some screws left over.

Guess I'm on the hook for a round after all.

Thanks, I'm pleased with the way they turned out.
There was not a mm to spare in the OEM panel.

You want to do just the tweets?
Installing the tweets in the OEM panel was the easy part.
Getting there was the most time consuming portion.

It's not really worth it IMO, unless you do the other speakers as well.
I think the tweets are the least of the problems with the OEM system.

That thing is gonna be like a compression chamber when it's done
Are you putting subs and amps?

The entire Bose system is deep sixed.
I'm not looking for a giant boom box that bounces down the street,
but a hi qual system that improves on the current setup.

Installing:
- Pioneer AVIC-D1 with NAV
- Audison 5 ch amp
- Focal 6.5" VA polyglass & tweets in front doors
- Focal 6.5" CA with integrated tweets in rear doors
- Focal 8" V2 polyglass sub; custom enclosure in corner of trunk
* everything rewired with low noise OFC braided cables

Wow, lots to do Ian, your list is growing instead of getting smaller .
And those honeydo lists can really get in the way sometimes .
Can hardly wait to see your new girl, and I am sure your new GPS will work better than a certain person's (cough C cough) we were following during another meet
