When reading the service guide, you'll notice a page that explains the difference between the two schedules. It also tries to give some guidelines as to what type of driving falls into what category. Sorry I don't have my maintenance guide with me, but just flip through it and determine for yourself whether or not the longer interval is suitable or if the short one is best.

I, too, posted about this some time ago and never got any replies so I think you're going to find that most people will say "do the 6,000" schedule. I'm still wondering about that for mine as my ownership/driving is:

- 4 year lease (why spend more if I won't keep it?);
- 90% highway;
- never take drives shorter than 10 min in length, with most being at least 20 min;

The only real knock against it was the dust/salt question, which in Ontario is impossible to avoid. Other than that, I'd go with the 12k schedule.

Hopefully I've been of some help, but without knowing your driving pattern and whether or not you're leasing, it's tough to say.

BTW, welcome to the forum.

Albert

All of them. Those are the recommended service points for your car to perform its best. It's better to have your car service up to date to prevent major issues down the road. Small problems especially in new cars can be detected early before they become a major issue.

Hi Jessica, and welcome to G35Driver. Congrats on the new ride and kudos for considering, and checking out the warranty.

I notice that you are in Ohio......which means you need the warranty schedule for the U.S. - and as was pointed out, the distance markers you suggested are in thousands of miles and all needed and are on the schedule.

You might want to look around to see what items can be skipped off each scheduled maintenance-- there are some things that can bring costs down somewhat, but certainly get the oil and filter done at those times.
You know you're welcome here any time, but you might want to check into your local forum (NorthEast) -- https://g35driver.com/forums/northeast-38/ and say hi to the local gang there too.
They're a great bunch of guys and gals and I know they'll welcome you there also.

Best of luck with the new ride, and once again congrats on what will prove to be a great ride for you.
Colin.
