Not if students want to drive home in one piece.

That skid school would be a worthwhile course and would be lots of fun at the same time.

You'll have a great time at that. When I had the Camaro I got the chance to be in the car while Ian drove it - amazing control! SOLO I and II used to take up all my free time back then and Ian always had time to show anyone interested, in how to handle their car. I've got video of that somewhere, I'll see if I can post it up.

Sweet! Yeah, I'm sure I'll have a blast...I also really need some sort of driving activity to fend off withdrawal symptoms over the off-season.

And what do you mean by back then? Come on out next year!

LOL!! I got seriously into golf after selling the Camaro - and that wasn't supposed to happen... just did. I actually bought a GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 turbo-diesel to pull a track car around on. My last year of racing scared me off financially - I saw a guy put his brand new (he broke it in on the drive to Memphis...) WS-6 into the wall at Memphis International Raceway. It got me thinking that I really couldn't afford to have my daily driver become a paperweight.

So, while I was looking for a car to use, I got back into golfing and realized that I was pretty good at it and enjoyed it. Since I play 100+ rounds a year, it doesn't leave much time for messing around with the car.

Used to be I would look under the hood when first shopping for a car, now I check to see if I can get 4 sets of clubs in the trunk

I take it you participate in SOLO I or II? If so, what groups? I mostly got out with the Corvette club as well as a Mazda club. The Chinese club was crazy - I think it was there that I first saw a Suburban autocrossed

Yeah, both Solo-I and II. I did autoxes with HADA, Mazda club, Twin Lakes, and the Corvette club this year. I'll be spending less time with Solo-II next year and focusing on Solo-I and track days/schools.

I definitely understand the daily driver paperweight fear...that's why the G is retired from track duty. Will be tracking a 2nd gen NA rx-7 next year. Wooo! Probably won't be as quick as the G in raw laptimes but I think having a wknd track car will help me develop better as a driver with pipe dreams of doing wheel-to-wheel racing one day.

Got a full work day in Friday and about supper time the big dump started. We had between 30-35 cm in about 8 hours plus strong winds. Heavy rains and +5 tomorrow so our famous flooding will begin.

^ That track day thing sounds like fun.

It's not easy finding big empty snow covered lots nowadays.

Anyways, the G's VDC went on the fritz during yesterday's snowing commute. It turned itself off!? And wouldn't turn back on until the car was restarted. It couldn't have been because it was trying to save itself (the brakes) from being over-worked, could it?

Yikes Deane,, that's quite a dump!. I hope the warmer day today got rid of some of it for you.

I was bitchin' the other day when we got about 10 cm.-- a walk in the park by comparison.

G/L bro and stay safe.

I know what you mean about bitchin about it. This one just kind of came from no where. Darn weather is just so extreme here last few days. This time of year we would usually get a few cms which would melt the next day. Our Christmas is a statistical 50/50 on whether it is white or not.

It wasn't warm enough today to melt- only got up to 0. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer and loads of rain along with a few other warmer days later this week. Just miserable enough to make my 24 km long run very miserable. Even with the blower I was out 2.5 hours this morning getting rid of it from the driveway and steps. Heavy crusty hard packed crap.

Now I feel better!
