It's not easy finding big empty snow covered lots nowadays.

Anyways, the G's VDC went on the fritz during yesterday's snowing commute. It turned itself off!? And wouldn't turn back on until the car was restarted. It couldn't have been because it was trying to save itself (the brakes) from being over-worked, could it?
That's one I have'nt heard of B4
I'd get the dealer to run a diagnostic on it.
It should have thrown some code.

I've had that happen a long time ago. It was during my first winter with the car. I was in a parking lot when this happened so I parked the car and started it a few mins later everything was back to normal.

Did you have the slip light appear too?

Took it to the dealership and it's been fine since, they said it was part of a recall that was sent out. I think it was the Brake Sensor Recall.

Yup, both the "VDC off" and "slip" lights were lit.

Thanks for the input. I'll get them to look into it at the next oil change. The car is pretty well behaved when going slowly, so I'm not too concerned.

I think the guys are talking about this recall:

Thanks for the link Msm. Wow, that thread dates back to '03. You'd think they would've fixed the problem for the later cars.
