Smile Re:Old Brake Pad Warranty Recall/Bulletin etc.

Hey Guys,

Man its been ages(months) since I was last on this site, I just totally got out of touch with G35Driver.com, and I see the site has been revamped etc. mind u its not as user friendly like it used to be or maybe its just that I am not used to it, and used to how it was in the past etc. Could u guys Friggin' believe that I just ended up putting on my Winters yesterday, just before our first storm of the year and mind u I was supposed to do it last week, when I literally spun and did a 360 on 407 on my way back from Oshawa, the night of that snow storm etc. I have never freaked out and **** my pants so much in my life, I realized that now important Winter Tires are, and that I should have not delayed and put on my snows at least a month ago. Luckily there were no cars around etc. Man Im so out of topic, but yeah I just wanted to say hello to everyone that new me and welcome to all the newcomers!

Heres my question, I ended up getting my brake pads etc replaced again under warranty at the dealer, this goes back to the recall/bulletin campaign for all 02 5AT G35 coupes if Im correct. Am I only entitled to one normally? replacement?

Also for those who are equipped with NAVI, did anyone take advantage of the 1 Free upgrade from ZENRIN yet?

Finally I've always wanted to know, here I have a $3400.00 NAVI option in my g35c, and its nuts that I cant play/watch DVD's, right? Is there a way that I can, or a kit that I can purchase? Please help people! Thanks

I can answer one of your questions! The brake campaign started for all 03 G's (G35 was released as an 03).

The brakes are covered for 3 years or 60,000 kms, which ever comes first. I've had my fronts changed twice under warranty and my rears changed once under warranty. So if you are still within that warranty period, you can get them changed again (if necessary)!

Hey bro, Nice to hear from you again.....Glad to hear you'll get your snows on now.....
From what I remember, the brake warranty runs 3 yrs - 60k...so if they wear out again, they should replace them again.........

Yes Zenrin sent me a new software version for my Coupe -- Just got it back in the summer . Here's the contact info for you:

Zenrin USA, Inc.

-phone: 1-888-661-9995

Hi 2Savvy, Welcome to 'Driver.......My brake notice only mentioned '03's (A/T).
Your dealer should know if there's an extended warranty on '04's tho.

Thanks for your help. I contacted my dealer and had them look at my car today. Only 23,000 kms on the car and I will be getting at least the front pads and rotors replaced this coming Monday. They will take a peek at the back pads and rotors on Monday and if needed they will do those as well. From what my dealer tells me they will replace if the wear is uneven from side to side as many times up to the 36 months or 60,000 kms.

Hope this helps other 5AT owners of '03 or '04 cars.

does anyone know if there is any warranty on the Brembo brake pads/rotors? I have an 04 and they have been making so much noise lately and aren't functioning nearly as well. My G has 25K on it.

Sorry man, from what I've read, Brembos are not included in the Xtended Warranty...

That doesn't mean the dealer can't help with the noise tho. Give him a call and G/L.

The warranty is for the 03 & 04 only. A thing I did not like is that they machine the rotors rather than replace so you take some mm off them & down the road you will have to replace them now on your own tab....

I think that is true if your warranty is finished.
Yes, once your 60k is up, you are on your own as to rotor and brake replacement.
I think the "stealership" is trying to save its self some $$$ in not replacing the rotors outright.

I'm soon coming up on 60k so I'll be in to the dealer for a "fresh set" of rotors and pads before the warranty is up.
