I find this hard to believe that you can trust Martin more than you can trust Harper. If it was an axe murderer running the opposition, I still think I would rather give him a chance over Martins Liberals, and I would trust the axe murderer more.
Can anyone explain how this could be possible???
I believe Blackie sums up my thoughts. Thanks Blackie!

IMO, I believe Harper has a secret agenda.

As for your comment about the Current Government stealing our money. Was it the current Government or the party currently running our country? The individuals that are running our Country today were not directly involved in the scandal. It was others! Scandals happen all the time within various companies. Does everyone get charged, no. Look at Enron. Why is it only select Executives getting charged, according to what you said, the entire company should be at fault. Overall, I believe the Liberals have done a great job in the office and I don't feel as though a change is required.

One more thing (I may be incorrect in this), but weren't the Conservatives combined with the Alliance Party (the Right Wing party)? I'm sorry, but I would not support any party that has members with that view.

And what view would that be?

Absolutely no doubt that my vote is going to the Conservatives. Paul Martin has done a very **** poor job of telling Canadians what his policies are, and the final straw was his statement that the first thing his government will do is remove the "Not withstanding clause". That is BS and every single Canadian should turn their back on him for that. If that is not American style government, I don't know what is.

As for Harper having an erra of GW Bush Jr. about him, nonsense. I lived in the U.S. when Bush Jr. was elected, and lived there until last September. I always considered myself a conservative person (right leaning), but damn, living in Illinois (Springfield to be fair though), I was pegged as liberal as one can get. Harper has some ideas that have come from the south, but none of them seemed to stick out as being harmful to Canada.

The bottom line is that ANY government will represent the majority of the people if it wants to stay in power. If the Conservatives were to all of a sudden reverse abortion laws, or tear down our health care system, they would be out in a heart beat. None of the policies of the Conservatives go against Canadian values in general. The problem is that the Liberals have cried wolf on the Conservatives for so long that some of you feel Harper is hiding in your closet when you turn your lights off. I just don't understand how BAD government has to get before you will decide enough is enough. Hell, its the Conservatives that have been advocating the idea that your MP should represent the riding that elected them, so what is to fear?

Are you trying to tell me that the finance minister of the country had no idea that members of his liberal party were STEALING money???
If so you are out to lunch. If in the small chance that he didnt know, he wasnt doing his job and should be fired anyway. You know what would happen if the finance guy at my work lost a grip of money???He would get fired and then charged, whether he took it or someone else took it...guess what ...THATS HIS JOB!!!
And i love the quote about every party would steal....well guess what that may be true, but what message do you send these parties if they just finish stealing from us and they get re-elected???
Why would they possibly stop stealing, if we acknowledge that its OK with another liberal government? I wouldnt stop if i was them, no one would.
Here is my metaphor: Little johnny steals a cookie from his sister. Does mom give him a hug, or does she punish him?
GO AHEAD AND HUG THE LIBERALS INTO POWER....DONT COME CRYING AFTER THEY STEAL MORE FROM ALL OF US!!!!

I never said that Martin never knew about it.

I do agree that the head of finance is responsible for what goes in and out of their respective department, but are you telling me that he or she really sees what's going on (i.e. scandals). These things can be passed by without anyone seeing it. Prior to today's various certification processes (i.e. SOCKS), no one was truly accountable and these things happened every where. If you think that it never happened anywhere before, then your out to lunch.

I disagree with the statement that "He would get fired and then charged, whether he took it or someone else took it..." That is totally incorrect. The person who get's fired and charged is the person they can prove that committed the act. The person who's job it is to oversee things, will get disciplined, but no way would get charged.

I'm not sure where you got the quote of every party would steal. I never said that. I said it happens in many organizations today and are not charged with anything.

You need to change your metaphor, little Johnny did not steal the cookie, his associates did!

Look, I'm not trying to attack you, I'm just responding back to your points. I honestly believe all the party leaders are all yo - yos. I've voting for the party that I believe in and that's that.

I voted Conservative (in the advance polls) simply because I want to see the Liberal crooks gone. I don't however consider my self a Conservative. I think the NDP has the best ideas but out here in Alberta, it's just a wasted vote. Last election I lived in downtown Edmonton and was proud to say that I voted against Anne McLellan. It was fun to see how close she came to being booted out. I wonder if she'll make it this year?

I'd like to see our justice system improved and would like to see the gun registry trashed. Not because I'm a gun nut by any means. I just don't think my Dad, Grandpa and uncles are a threat to anyone. Criminals aren't going to register or turn in their guns.

I'm not pro George Bush but I think it would be good for the country if our relations with the USA improved.

Bottom line for me, I just think the Liberals are old and stale and just need to go.

I did the quiz and apparently I support PC 33.33%, Lib 33.33%, and NDP 33.33%. D'oh!
Pretty much the same for me. I slightly favor the conservatives apparently.
