This is mainly for the 2006 owners as I'm not sure if this is a new thing. My pearl white 6MT (Coupe) has arrived and needless to say, I am counting the days till Feb 2. Anyway I had asked the sales guy to throw in all season matts (living in "Rain"couver I definitely need it) - he says there's no need - get this - all u do is flip over the infiniti matts that come with it and you have all season!

Is he lying (and being cheap) or is he serious? I find this hard to believe but heck if it indeed is true, save me from swapping matts when the weather is bad. Can someone confirm this (pic would be nice)?

They ain't pretty, but they are functional. They are black rubber, ribbed and recessed to collect water, salt and sand.
I washed mine for the first time last week and the amount of wet sand they trapped from my condo parking lot made me glad I bought them.

The carpet was spotless underneath. If it's possible to get them in order to seal the deal, then I would insist on them.

just get them. they're more than worth it. they fit the interior like a glove and won't have to worry about messing up the carpeting underneath it. don't listen to that idiot salesguy.

Michelin Extreme mats are excellent (Canadian Tire). They are generic, but fit my sedan very well, and hold a huge amount of crud.

The Infiniti all season mats are great.....sure they don't look like much but they do an excellent job of keeping the carpet clean and dry, and staying in place. They fit properly and have a clip that holds them securely so they won't move at all.

To "just flip" the summer mats will mean they'll move around and get caught up in the pedals.....not good.
Besides that, they won't catch any water and hold it, so you'll end up with a messed up carpet and floor mat.

Tell the salesman you want the All Seasons; they're a good investment.

Make sure they throw in the fitted and branded ones...I have a 2004 coupe and they did not sell these matts until a year later...bought it for $110 CDN at the dealership. Get him to throw it in for free.

The Infiniti mats are excellent. This is my second winter with them and like the other posts say, they fit like a glove, don't move around, and the carpet underneath is totally clean. I haven't been so excited about floor mats as I was with these! Well worth it.

Is it really true you can flip over the summer matts and have it double as all season or not? Physically why not, but I mean if it was meant to be this way (should be pretty easy to tell)?

I want to know so when i ask him to throw in the matts, I don't want him coming back with "oh you can just double over the summer matts", which he did once already.

you can flip the carpeted ones over... heck I do, but that's only cuz i've had the car since the summer of '05 and i've only seen probably a day or 2 of rain. anywho, my point is once the heavy rain somes around (should be real soon here in L.A.) I will definately buy the all season matts.

I have a black interior and i'm kinda **** about dirtying my carpet hahaha

remember that the stock mats will not hold alot of water and the water will end up running to the sides and what not... not a good thing especially in an IP...

my advice is, have him throw it in there but even if you pay for em, it's a pretty darn good investment if you live out in an area where you'll see rain & mud/dirt quite often...

and yup, he's being cheap! lol

Sorry, I am not familiar with the '06 mats to know if they are different than the earlier mats. i have an '04 and they do not double as all seasons as they have the nipples on the back and no troughs to catch water and dirt. Have a look for these features on the '06 yourself to see if they look like can be doubled up. In any event get the all season mats. I have them and they will be much more durable and winter function than any possible dual purpose mat anyhow.

Haha, If the new mats are like the previous ones, then no you can't do that and have them fit in properly and clip in place.
As you'll see, the mats themselves are contoured to the floor and nowhere near symetrical and reversible......the clip fits into a small hole in the mat that is offset slightly to the driver's door, so there's no way to fit them in properly.

Tell him you want the all seasons thrown in, and don't be so cheap.

The Infiniti all-seasons are a nice mat. At the time I bought mine, they weren't available in Canada, so I got the Weather Tech ones. They fit almost as well, though not as exactly as the Infiniti of course. In some ways, I like the ridge design better, so it's a bit of a toss-up for me. If the Infiniti ones were available at the time, I'd probably have gone with those.
