Drove an Audi A3 3.2Q with DSG.
Not too thrilled with the car, but that trany was amazing.
You get that direct connected feel of an MT with lightning fast shifts with the flick of a finger.
Shifts are as smooth as glass too.
I also found out BMW has dropped it's SMG in the 3 series & is co developing a dual clutch sequential box too.

I agree that the G is the best bang for your buck. It looks good, sounds good, and is fun to drive. But I only wish they would improve the oil dipstick location and relocate the driver's seat controls.

I'm sure you're right about those new techno pseudo manuals. I haven't had the pleasure of ever driving one.
Maybe Infiniti has one up their sleeve. It would sure be nice to have especially for anyone with problem knees.

DSG is spreading through the VAG product line now.
Porsche is in the wings too..
Maybe DSG tranies are the next marketing battle ground.
Here's a link to a Sachs 7 speed dual wet clutch.
Note the animation link on the right side of the page...

There is an electronic dipstick on the display.....
I would be very surprized if the seat controls didn't get changed.
The M, FX & Coupe Concept...all on the side

I guess we got the answer even before I could respond to you Wayne. We're a bit biased but on the same page about Infiniti for value. The person that designed that dipstick is a dipstick. It's impossible to check unless there is full sunlight since you can't find the opening and need to fiddle around so much.
Speaking of tires is that why with 14.5 k my rears are nearly gone?

No question the controls will be changed. The right side is hard and overbolstered to compensate for the controls. Reverse for the passengers. The coupe seat may be tighter with slightly higher bolsters too. There's not enough soft padding on the right for my skinny legs.
Electronic dipstick - great idea. Why would it be hard to measure levels at level and not running.
