I just ordered an '04 6sp. sedan and I'm still contemplating the rust/"sound" protection, and paint sealant protection packages offered by the dealer. I'm curious to hear from people who have owned Infiniti or Nissans in the past and whether you've had the rust protection and/or paint protection, and how they've held up to salt and rusting.

I've owned Acuras in the past and after 6-7 years they begin to rust around the trailing edge of the wheel well and the gas cap door - regardless of rust protection. Therefore, I would not recommend the treatment on Acuras and Hondas because it does not appear to prevent rust in those critical spots. (I've had both, with and without the rust protection)

I know everyone has an OPINION on this subject, but I'd like to hear from those who have had EXPERIENCE with Infiniti/Nissans in the past.
