2005 G35 Exhaust Fix

Today I fixed the rusted flange on my tail pipe to muffler connection with a simple replacement flange. Rusting of the parts supporting the rust resistant exhaust is. A. Common problem on the G35. All I needed was a replacement flange and some gasket sealer. The dealer wanted to replace the entire rear sectionif exhaust $1200.

Rust aka Cancer

Welcome to the G35 Driver forums! Rust has been an issue with cars since we traded in our horses! Living in areas that aren't warm year round where you have snow/rain most of the year doesn't help. Never go to the dealership for anything but warranty work! Best option for your exhaust is a "Muffler shop?" Magnflow makes a perfect replacement muffler if that's what you need, the muffler shop can replace rusted pipe. If they have stainless pipe that would even be better. Enjoy the ride and again Welcome to Driver...Gary

Common failure on the sedan.

I paid a muffler shop $40 to weld in a patch. Took 15 mins.
