- Differential oils -- CTC
- MT oils -- n/a to me, but I've read that the friction modified lube that Deane gets is good. I'm sure Deane does too, but I'd match the OEM viscocity and not go either thicker or thinner.
- Air filters -- either OEM (Dealer), or K&N (CTC)
- Microcabin filters -- Gord(gee)'s Hepa filters are much better than OEM.

On the gear lube I use 75W90 which is close to OE 75W85

Anyone use synthetics on the G35s? I was thinking of purchasing some Motul for the G, but I am unsure if its warrenty safe.

Wonder if it's the same stuff as the GM friction modified stuff. I know it's relabelled as different brands as well.

Deane,
Should be fine.....what I meant was going way off the mark with visc.

BTW, I looked mine up to see that my M takes 80W90 in the diff :-- slightly thicker than for the G-cars. Still got some 75W85 on the shelf, but I guess I'll have to get some 80W90

As a point of interest, Q45Tech from F/A reckons that apart from keeping the gears 'happy', that quite a few ponies (5-10) can be had by keeping the rear diff filled with fresh lube. (thru friction reduction).
If it's true, that's not a bad little bonus for just changeing out that 2 liters.

He says to do it about every 15k miles.
FWIW...

Could very well be. The label says it has a synthesized additive and it is excellent for limited slip diffs. The auto manufacturers don't produce their own oils of course and would spec their stuff and then tender to lube co.

I like it. I first changed to Castrol syn. and it was terrible for notchiness in the MT so I immediately swapped it out for the Lucas. It seems to work great.

Nice to know the Lucas works well in the G. I've heard a lot of complaints about that notchiness in the shifter after changeing out the lube.
Sounds like Lucas is the answer....

Better more often than not often enough, don't worry.
It's not that expensive and it's only 2-2.5 liters.
