Since it is summer already, I thought I want to start a thread about our GTA meet events. You know... meets are too often being a group of our owners standing around in a parking lot hanging out. Sometime doesn't get people motivated to come along the road. Just wondering if anyone wanna start suggesting things to do when we meet.

My suggestion:

1)Go-Kart
good competitive racing without putting our babies (ours Gs) to the test of potentially harming it on a track day. There seems to be a lot of go-kart racing tracks here in TO so we could have fun going to all these different tracks.... Maybe we could possibly start a league of our own forum?

2)Racing/Autocross training
Don't know if this will be affordable but just an idea that some people would want to do.

 

I love the thought of your first suggestion. Go kart racing is an absolute blast.....especially with a big group of guys. Even though I don't live in the GTA, that suggestion would certainly get my vote!

I like the idea of going Carting.

What i wanted to point out in the link above, is that the Japanese are willing to meet up at a parking area and go to a small trip togather. LOL. Some of the trips include Strawberry picking; Hot spring; NISMO fest and etc.

 

Alan..We have been talking about a couple of runs.

One would be a tour up the Bruce peninsula along Georgian Bay to Tobermory where there are some nice little dive shops and other small shops, then possibly park the cars for a couple of hours and go on a boat tour to Flowerpot Island or go on the glass bottom boats to see some of the shipwrecks. This run you probably have to stay overnight, so it would use up the weekend. This would be a good trip where you could bring your partner and kids if you want. Msedanman was going to join me and we were going to prerun this trip in May to check it out.

The other trip we were talking about was one to Vermont/Adirondacks for a few days. Hold Out (Eric) had mentioned organizing this. This would be a fun trip with some nice scenery, and roads to cover. RBull (Deane from the East Coast) said he would love to do this and meet up down there, and there were a few others that expressed interest in it.

Last fall InTgr8r, Msedanman, and myself toured to the East Coast to visit our other G-friends RBull and Canuck. This was a great trip, we had a lot of fun.

Ballz (Shane) has been wanting to get a few people interested in Mosport or some form of tracking or autocross. This is another option that is open. Renisis get hold of Shane he has been looking for recruits to join him on this one.

So these were a couple suggestions and these trips can be a good time. I think we could still have a Parking lot meet in May where we could meet a few people and have lunch and a couple drinks at one of the nearby restaurants.
I think the go-karting idea is a great idea for people that live around TO.
