Alignment - How often?

Question Alignment - How often?

How often do you gets get an alignment?

Especially you 03/04 Coupe owners.. since there is a known issue about premature tire wear.

Every year, in the spring, after the winters come off and the pot-holes are patched. Recommend a balance at the same time, to reduce the potential for premature tire wear.
Just a hunch, but what many of us may consider premature tire wear, may really be just a heavy right foot, enjoyment of internal combustion music, and steering out the side window, whenever possible.

I do as well.
It always suprises me what the initial readings are &
how much it can change in one year.

Would the same suggestion apply to 05 and later?

I doubt that changing the tires from summer and winter would have that much effect on the suspension.

I would imagine alignments can't hurt..

Just found that Infiniti charges twice the amount Nissan stealerships for the same alignment job.

Silly question. When doing an alignment, does it require them to remove your wheels off the car?

I was wondering if they would inspect my rotors/brakes in the meantime w/o causing extra labour/work.

That is a good question whether to get alignments urabus. My dealer wanted to check my alignment on my 05 sedan as part of their 30,000km service. I told them to forget it. They stated it is what they recommend for the 30,000 km.
Heck, I rarely get alignments on any vehicles unless I see uneven wear patterns, or the handling has changed or when I purchase new tires.

I will be going for my 36,000 km service next week, so what most of you guys are saying is to get it checked.

That's interesting Wayne. When my vehicle was in for service late last fall at 12k kms and the dealer blamed my tire feathering on my lack of having an alignment done at 6k km. I had one done at about 500km to correct a pull to the right and was in to get the recommended one done at 12k km. I just had another done this spring at 13.5k kmafter installing the new shocks and sways.

Just to let you know I called the Dealers today to book my 36,000 km service and I discussed the alignment with them. They agreed it wasn't necessary unless I was noticing or experiencing any of the symptoms I stated before. The only additional reason I would get an alignment is if I was doing suspension changes.

How about mounting on a new set of rubber?

Absolutely Urabus, that was one of the reasons I would get an alignment as I quoted in my previous post.
