Nice. Is this yours? I know you posted it, but I think I've seen this a while back ago. Really nice none the less.

If you did, did you do it yourself? How much everything cost if you don't mind me asking. I'm planning on doing it too.

I did buy all the components but I had a pro install everything.
I think I spent like $1700 for everything including install, I can't remember exactly. I got this done like 3 years ago

What power supply did you use? What's the name of the program you ran from windows that went into media player, etc?
Did you go with a SSD? What wireless networking adapter did you go with?

The vid was great finishing it off with the SNES emulator.

Power supply is the Carnetix CNX-P1900 Ver. 2.2 Dual Output 140 Watt 12V DC-DC Regulator. The program running in windows is called Centrafuse.

The computer I use is the Aopen mini pc Fits perfectly in the globe box. I put a 160GB sata hdd, its not a ssd.

looks nice but bootup is slow.

I'm using a stripped down version of windows xp embedded and I get from bios to deskop is 10-12 seconds.

Sexy Rob,

Do you have a carputer in your car currently. If so I might need to come check it out so i can get some pointers. I was big into MP3car and made a really nice carputer with a Travala C134 case and a Opus Power supply with built in trigger.

There are some good power supplies out there, many can be configured to send a hibernate command instead of power off.

my carputer is built to boot up into uprev cipher for data logging / gauges. so the OS is very stripped down.

its currently sitting on my kitchen table while I optimize it. not in the car yet.

I use a G.Skill pheonix pro 120GB SSD (285mb/read 275mb/write) on mine as well as boot win 7. I coulnt recommend SSD enough, you will never go back. SSD also makes much more sense in a car due to the environment its in, especially with a lowered G!

I use the M4 from logic for PSU and love it. Never had any battery issues putting the computer into hibernation when I shutoff the car either. It is a DD though. Nice that same apps remain open next time you turn on the car although Osiris CIPHER will quit responding and freeze out on next boot everytime because it hasnt gone through the init process with the ecu. win7 quickly catches it though and I kill it and hit the shortcut real quick again.

I had to remain on 32 bit version of 7 due to a limited driver ability for the finger print scanner built into the driverside door panel so I am maxed out at 4gb ram but luckily nothing I run is too intensive.
