I'll second the software issue......most carpc software is based on a windows platform...there are some window emulaters but due to the different requirment for each frontend.....I doubt many will work properly. Most likely ALOT more difficult than a PC version.

Hey gizsf, what frontend and gps software are you using? I currently have Frodoplayer and IGuidance. I like both and Frodo is very stable, however IGuidance font size is pretty small. I reshacked in and got some of them bigger and the GPS is very accurate but its not exactly the best to enter in addresses, etc. What option do you have and how do you like it?

Thanks.

EDIT: Oh I see you're using Centrafuse. Are you using Destinator with that?

One other thing I remember about Centrafuse is my machine in my car is only like 800 MHZ, but Centrafuse seems to be really processor sensitive and VERY laggy. I think the new revision is supposed to be better but in the meantime, it doesnt seem like it could run on my machine now.

Can't go wrong using CoPilot Live 8. It is actually designed to be used in touchscreen applications. I access it via Centrafuse's interface and it goes into full screen mode. I have the alt-tabber program locked in the corner and set to be invisible so that I can always get out of the full-screen mode fast (one tap on the corner of the screen) and back to Centrafuse interface. Copilot also has built in keyboard, different views, auto recalculations, eta.....etc.

I really like Centrafuse but your right...it is a little bit lagy....I'm waiting for the new version to come out in the next week or two...should be way improved! I'm also using a viaa 800mhz cpu/mb but I put in 512mb of ram and tweaked anything I could to get some extra cpu HP.

All together...about $1,500 after everything...(including all the little misc. crap that adds up fast and the GPS software at $200)....considering a stock gps adds about $2,000 to the price and has a sh!ty gps and interface........I'd say this way really out does that stock system as far as gps and also has way...way more features.

Yup, you can simply just slide it into the cubby hole and close the lid. You can't tell anything is there.

Don't be too disapointed, I have a few upgrades coming soon, and if I can find someone trustworthy locally that works with fiberglass......I'll have a nice production ready surprise possibly.

Hey Gizsf - did you happen to write up any DIY's on how you put that pac audio SWI-X into the compass/temp display? I want to do the same thing, and saw some of your pics, but hard to make out what/where you did things at. Thanks for any help and your install looks great!
