it depends how you define layers. if you do 3 layers every couple of weeks, i don't think you can add up the total number of layers, since there is some wear and tear with time. To really claim to have 23 layers, you need to layer those coats consecutively, while waiting for the proper cure time.
If you add up the total coats on my car, i've got like 12-15, but that's over 4-5 months. It does help the car hold a glow to the paint, even if it is dusty.

I simply don't have the time to do so many coats. The fact that Zaino allows me to easily do 2 coats in a few hours is one of the things I like about it.
In the past year, I've used Z2 maybe 4 times on the G. It lasts a long time for me. My G has never looked/felt like it needed anything more than a wash and Z6/8 spray in between the Z2 sessions to appear freshly waxed.
I have noticed that the use of Z2 and Z8 appear to have diminished the factory orange-peel over time. The finish seems to smooth out just a bit each time... ...no doubt a trick of the great optic properties of Zaino.
FWIW, my G is garaged and rarely sees weather worse than extreme heat. It's never felt in need of a wax after the intitial Zaino session upon delivery, so I know I'm achieving some layering.
I also used it on my wife's Pathfinder about a year ago and haven't hit it since. Everytime time she get's the oil changed they wash it and hit it with some detailer spray. It freshens up the Zaino and looks spectacular again. It did great on her dark gray vehicle.
