Removing scratches ?
Removing scratches ?
Somebody scratch the heck out of my G35 last week, and oh man, that was depressing. It looks that no matter how hard you try not to park in the places that most likely will get you car dented or scratch, still happens. But, anyway, I am trying to find out what is the best way to remove fine scratches from the paint. I want to do it myself, but, I am afraid of using the wrong thing and damage the paint. Can anybody please let me know what is the best thing to do and to use to remove scratches? I already tried some type of scratch remover from Auto Zone, but, I think these scratches are a little deeper than I thought because it did not work. I will really appreciated if I could get a reply. Also, does anybody know if the black sections on the doors are actually painted or are they like some type of tape? Thanks.
If the scratch is not through the clear coat, or very deep in the clear coat it should buff out with some patience and the right polishes. If your doing this application by hand I would recommend you use the Poorboy's World SSR 2.5 followed by the SSR 1.0. The SSR 2.5 is a medium abrasive polish that will do the majority of the work. The SSR 1.0 helps further reduce the scratch and makes sure the surface is smooth and glossy. This works great for light scratches but deeper ones will require touch up work.
